Folks at NextScript,
I have read NS FAQ, https://www.nextscripts.com/support-faq/#a17
Have also read that support for Old Post Auto-re-post will no longer hold until the release of version 3.5, which will come with a complete re-write of this “old posts auto repost” feature , https://www.nextscripts.com/blog/old-posts-re-posting-no-longer-supported/
Have read, “Auto re-posting of the old posts” for those of us who still want to use it (and or are already using this feature).
Have read, “Auto-Re-posting Problems” or trouble shooting, https://www.nextscripts.com/known-issues/auto-reposting-problems/ and the associated post on “Auto re-posting of the old posts”, https://www.nextscripts.com/snap-features/old-posts-auto-reposting/Having said the above, it is a known fact that NS version 3.5 was never released. Instead, version 3.4.16 came.
I had my Auto-post and Old post auto re-post all properly set up and it worked fine, even in a production environment. Now, NS releases version 3.4.16 and instead of this version making good on the promise of the new re-written code for “auto post and old posts auto re-post” that was meant for version 3.5. this release appears to completely de-activated this “auto post old posts auto re-post” feature which worked, even though it was complicated for some people to implement.
And meanwhile, NS is also not telling when exactly they are going to release the much awaited version 4.
Whoever is responding this thread from NS, tell me, is this a fair treatment to the NS User Community? Currently, it looks to me that NS has pulled off the plugs , concerning this feature, on some of us paid customers (including myself) and I am not happy about that, to be honest.
My suggestion: put the old code for “old posts auto re-post” which worked, back in say a version 3.4.17, with no support, whilst you guys complete your work on version 4.
Thanks @umesh Kumar for the response. As a matter of fact, I started using/testing this plugin just yesterday.
If that is how things are (it’s more than 12 hours since the first user report about this service mal-function), in terms of the availability of service even as pertain to the free-mium version of this plugin, then I am already beginning to consider an alternative plugin.
I suppose free-mium users should have ample and uninterrupted time, to get used to what this plugin before considering the premium version. Does anyone agree with me on this?
The URL ( https://www.smushit.com/ysmush.it/ws.php which redirects to ) https://smushit.eperf.vip.ac4.yahoo.com/ysmush.it/ws.php is currently not accessible. It throws the browser response in Chrome:
“The server at smushit.eperf.vip.ac4.yahoo.com can’t be found, because the DNS lookup failed. DNS is the network service that translates a website’s name to its Internet address. This error is most often caused by having no connection to the Internet or a misconfigured network. It can also be caused by an unresponsive DNS server or a firewall preventing Google Chrome from accessing the network.
Go to https://yahoo.com/ …”Same errors here. I do get “ERROR: posting to Smush.it” when I try to smush an image. It looks like the service is down. The URL https://www.smushit.com/ysmush.it/ws.php redirects to https://smushit.eperf.vip.ac4.yahoo.com/ysmush.it/ws.php throwing the above error.
Strange, for the service worked some less than 24hours ago.I don’t support the only version that would probable work/function now is the “WP Smush PRO” version, right?
Can someone from “WPMU DEV” react on that?
Thanks
