I just encountered this problem, and I have the same question. Lightbox effect is responsive in the way that it keeps the image size within the mobile device screen size, squishing it horizontally and destorting the aspect ratio. This is not good.

I found a workaround to this problem, I use the shutter effect instead, which is not so handy, but at least it looks good on my iPhone. You can change it under “Other Options >> Lightbox Effect”.
Anyway the question still stands, how to make the built-in lightbox effect fully responsive.

One last question: Talking about “advanced” features, are you planning to build in a function that one could select individual plugins and themes to be or not to be updated?

Yes ?? So now WordPress overtakes the settings and does the update on its own? Because your plugin stopped working since then.

OK, that is what I thought. Is it possible that the default setting is not core update only? I have not configured Automatic Background Updates in my intallation at all. This is how it works since 3.7.

OK. Is it possible that plugins and themes also updated in the background? I get notification emails but I don’t know if it was sent by your plugin or WordPress background update. Here is the content:
