What IP addresses are associated with the plugin?

As for switching to serverside, that defeats the whole purpose of javascript mode and the advice if using a cache, which I am (Hypercache):

“Select Javascript if you are using a caching plugin (W3 Total Cache, WP SuperCache, HyperCache, etc). WP SlimStat will behave pretty much like Google Analytics, and visitors whose browser does not support Javascript will be ignored. A nice side effect is that most spammers, search engines and other crawlers will not be tracked.”

But in any event, I tried serverside mode and it made no difference. Just as slow.

Javascript mode was enabled.

And yes I’m talking about the public website, not admin.

I use CSV load regularly and it works fine for me, although I don’t use all fields (only Name, Address, Notes, Category, Visible, Secondary URL). I’m using v5.8.0.5.

BTW the refresh icon seems to be broken and displays a “0” instead of the data for the report.

And? We’re not all PHP or wordpress developers and understand the subtle ramifications of some technical change you’ve made and documented there. Nevertheless, whatever you’ve deliberately changed that is listed in the changelog and makes this happens, refreshing the Overview is a headache now.

I’m also noticing something strange with the “Overview” page after clicking on the “Today” link. Now every time I refresh the page, in Chrome, it thinks the page is a form and there will be a resubmission of the data, and so keeps asking if I’m sure I want to refresh. It didn’t use to do that before and I could just refresh at will with no interruptions or questions.

You’re welcome. You have a great plugin and I’m beginning to appreciate its finer points and also appreciate the responsiveness to suggestions.

I like the way you’ve added tracking admin pages, and now there is one feature I’ve always wanted but can’t find anywhere in any plugin so far: The ability to specify a list of URLs (with wildcards) to track and alert me (by email and in a widget on the overview page) when someone visits those pages. In particular if someone tries to login or does get access to the admin pages I’d want to know about it ASAP! Of course it can be used to track and alert when a visitor goes to any page on the website too.

As I’m looking in the spy view, a visitors visit from a single IP is broken in two if a second visitor “interrupts” the first visitor’s visit. See below (from the spy view) the IP 76.30.133.115 visited 2 pages 4 mins appart but they are shown as two visits not part of the same visit because IP 14.97.17.121 interrupted the visit:

Ok, so how about just returning a count next to the IP address of how many pages the visitor has seen before, that way we know something about this visitor’s interest in the content.

Also, the way all pages a visitor goes to in one session are grouped together is a little strange in the spy and right now views. It works as long as no other visitor comes in during the visit. The moment visitor #2 shows up the first visitor’s visit is split in two and the pages visited before the visitor #2 showed up are grouped together and all the pages after visitor #2 showed up are grouped together. Then the whole thing gets even more and more fragmented as the two visitors keep clicking and when you have several simultaneous visitors, the “visit” has disappeared as every page view is it’s own “visit” and you can’t see paths of any visitor during a single visit.

In other words, on a busy website, the “Session Duration” setting doesn’t really accomplish anything.

Ok, that works, but you have to enter in each poll as a separate cookie.

Perhaps you might want to consider supporting HyperCache as it is very popular and good cache. They have a few API calls you make to disable the cache which you might want to try. The info is at the end of their plugin page here:

Hypercache has an option to turn off caching for users with a specific cookie. If I do poll logging with cookies perhaps this would work. Can you provide me with the WP-Polls cookie so I can enter it into HyperCache and see if it works.

Not to worry, I can see they are different now. Perhaps a different coloured arrow or page icon or something to make it more obvious?

Thanks for the outbound links, but could you use a different icon for them, as there’s no way to tell which is which without hovering over the icon and that takes a long time to do for each one listed.
