Hello, any more word on this? My Client Dash tab settings are not saving after I edit them. Could this be caused by a plugin conflict with Nav Menu Roles?

and a very small thing – in the “Choose your compliment type” selection box can you perhaps add some text inside that text box to say “Type your message here”. Thanks!

Some feedback – I have tested this on single and multisite and have not found any real issues.

Minor issues:

1) In the gift selection box where I choose which gift to send a friend the selection radio buttons are not aligned very well, but I guess that’s a theme styling issue?

2) To make preview images display larger, in the custom CSS styles box for the plugin I simply added:
img.preview-upload { height: auto !important ; width: auto !important }

3) In the “BuddyPress Compliments – Settings” page “Ex.” (meaning example) should change to “e.g.”

Those are tiny issues so I can say is well done!

@viruthagiri That was so quick! Thank you so much! You’re a genius! This works perfectly and it even sorts out another issue where BP group hierarchy must have been causing followers / following to be listed twice.

and @roaming1 here’s another hack that @viruthagiri’s fix would have overwritten in extention.php. This fixes the issue of the list of member groups not displaying in the parent group itself.
Replace <?php _e(‘No member groups were found.’,’bp-group-hierarchy’); ?>
with <?php the_widget( BP_Group_Navigator_Widget ); ?>

I have the same issue and the popular BP Group Hierarchy plugin is essential to my site but I really love this compliments plugin and need to find a way to get it to work. Can you suggest a possible hack/fix. Many thanks!

Great idea! As soon as you add this feature I intend to use this plugin because the pictures that come with the plugin are useless to me.

Okay, here’s an example of the issue:
On the Buddypress sitewide activity it says “sfepa voted up to a reply by achiledus in the topic I can’t import sound 6 hours, 59 minutes ago”
When I click the URL the associated reply is by Jack Armstrong, see https://www.pencil2d.org/forums/topic/i-cant-import-sound/#post-26853
So, surely the Buddypress activity should have said “sfepa voted up to a reply by Jack Armstrong in the topic I can’t import sound 6 hours, 59 minutes ago”?

I’m guessing there could have been a conflict with another plugin but I can’t verify that for sure. I have deleted one or two plugins that may have been the culprit and am ready to try it again but I suspect that there may have been an issue with the modification that you made to make the plugin multisite compatible. You asked about the steps I took. I installed the plugin and then activated it on the main site only as I do not need it on the other sites. It did work fine but when I noticed that some status updates were not being posted successfully I assumed it was because of the gifts plugin so I deactivated it and in the process was redirected to the backend one of the subsites. I tried this a few times and had the same result every time. Perhaps you would be so kind as to check the modification you made for multisite. I really appreciate your help. Thanks!

Has my issue got anything do do with my wordpress being multisite?

…hmm… I spoke too soon, unfortunately. Although the plugin had been working well for a day it started conflicting with Buddypress so I tried to delete it from the main site on my multisite but it then refused to delete when I clicked deactivate and it took me to the back end of one of the subsites on the network. I tried a few times with to delete it with no success.

I then tried to re-activate the plugin by network activating it instead of activating it only on the main site as I had previously done. This caused the following error:

“Fatal error: Cannot redeclare bp_gifts_init() (previously declared in /home/awe/public_html/wp-content/plugins/buddypress-gifts-latest-2014/loader.php:30) in /home/awe/public_html/wp-content/plugins/buddypress-gifts-latest-2014/loader.php on line 34”

I eventually had to delete the plugin files from the server manually. I guess the table that was created in the database is still in the database.

Do you have any new ideas? I would desperately love to get this working.
