In reply to: display x ammount of words in a postWell, I may be planning on releasing this theme for the public – and if the user don’t have to download a extra plugin for the theme to work – it would be awesome.
However, if it’s 10x easier to do it with a plugin – I would gladly use that instead!

However, since I’m not comfortable with that query_posts thing I tried using the plugin, but it won’t work under 2.3.1 and gives me a error when I try to change the amount of posts displayed when seeing a category:
WordPress database error: [Table 'wordpress.wp_categories' doesn't exist] SELECT cat_ID FROM wp_categories WHERE category_nicename = 'basics'Anybody got a clue what may help? I know that the plugin is currently unsupported by the developer, and that recent changes in wp 2.3 may have broken the plugin – but I’m crossing my fingers someone out there has a solution to my problem ??

In reply to: page templates won’t showok, now I have a new problem. I just reinstalled my system and backed up my whole web-folder. And when I reinstalled wordpress, it stopped recognizing my category-x.php files.
I’ve tried both php4 and php5 but it’s not working with either one.
edit: found what was causing it. back to resolved.
