    Fixed it.

A problem with my admin panel for my domain, and my WP setup. All fixed.

    Thanks for all the help!

And, just to be thorough, changing the theme does not change the situation.

    Also,

    If I go to rainfallsoneveryone.translucentbeauty.net,
I remain logged in, as I would expect.

Being installed on a subdirectory must be the cause of this?

But, then why has it only begun displaying this in the past few weeks, and not since I set up the current configuration?

Ok. Maybe we are making progress.

    The root is:
    rainfallsoneveryone.translucentbeauty.net

In the WP control panel, the WordPress address is:
    https://rainfallsoneveryone.translucentbeauty.net

    and the blog address is:
    https://rainfallsoneveryone.com

    The login is at:
    https://rainfallsoneveryone.translucentbeauty.net

Is this what you were getting at in your original reply?

I have had absolutely no problems with this setup since I configured it in October. It has only begun displaying this particular behavior in the past few weeks/month. This makes me think it had something to do with either my upgrade, or the install of a particular plugin.

I will check changing the theme right now.

Thank you for all of your help.

    Hold on.

Nope. Deactivated plugin on previous site. Removed all redirects.

Logged out of new site. Cleared cookies. Logged into new site. Same issue.

Maybe I am still being boneheaded about this, but, how might I go about fixing this issue. The site (translucentbeauty.net), has an outdated link to the old blog. The new blog is at rainfallsoneveryone.com.

    Thanks.

    Got it.

I installed something to redirect from my old blog, to the new blog address…and now that I think about it, it has been since I installed that plugin that this has been happening.

Thank you. I hate being a bonehead, but, sometimes, that’s just the way it is!

So, instead of fiddling with my blog, I attempted an install of a new WP Blog on the new domain, pointed to a subdirectory in my domain.

No header, visible – I realized that the theme is just not working.

Is this the typical problem, moshu?

Anyway, i think I will hold off for now…but does anyone know if WordPress will implement this function in the future?

    Thanks for everything,
    Casey

    Thanks for the quick reply.

I believe you understand it correctly – and I think I want to do #2.

I registered a new domain name, and set up a domain pointer at my host. So, the main directory of the new domain name is a subdirectory of my main site. I want that subdirectory to have my wp installation.

Right now my Wp installation is at: mydomain.com/blog
My domain pointer for the new domain is at: mydomain.com/domainpointer

I want the WP installation in: mydomain.com/domainpointer

IF I undertand domain pointers correctly (which is entirely suspect), then, when someone accesses newdomain.com, it will retain the new domain name, and access the files in the subdirectory of my main site.

    How convoluted was that?

So, I think I need to follow the link you gave me for option 2, though I would ask if you think my process will encounter some of the problems you mention.

    Thank you again,
    Casey
