[Plugin: Networks for WordPress] use of subdomain for new network

Is it possible to use a subdomain as a new network or is it required to use a primary domain name?
I get this error in the network preview when testing:
DNS: New domain IP ( roguevalley.econethub.com/ ) does not match current IP ( 66.7.208.137 ).
