In reply to: Legitimate "Please Moderate" email from Wordpad.org?Thanks. Even a comment/reply form with a required email address is not safe from spammers.
Thanks. That is along the lines of what I was looking for.
I wanted people to be able to post anonymously as well because I believe the number of comments goes WAY down when people have to show their identity in some way.
A problem with anonymous posts though is spammers. However I’ve seen on blogspots a plugin that has people identify numbers or a photo in order to proceed with their post.
WordPress NOT Wordpad above.

In reply to: Is this the norm for themes?“WordPress.com has its own forums to discuss anything related to its services and software. You can use those forums if you want to enquire about them: https://en.forums.wordpress.com”
It appears that one can not partake in https://en.forums.wordpress.com unless they have already paid for the service. Kind of a catch 22. I want to ask questions that would determine whether or not I want to use their service bit I must already have their service in order to ask the question.

In reply to: Is this the norm for themes? Here is the answer to my ad question:
“WordPress.com has been running advertising on our free hosted blogs since 2006. Many bloggers do not know this because despite the fact they ticked the box required to get a free blog, they did not read the ToS. Many also do not read features page, or advertising entry in the support documents after registering their username and blog(s). Also note that as the ads do not display to us when we are logged in, and as many use browsers with ad blockers when logged out, they may not realize they are there at all. The only way to get rid of all advertising on our free hosted WordPress.com blogs is to purchase an annually renewable No-Ads upgrade.”

In reply to: Is this the norm for themes? What is the benefit of the WordPress.com software as opposed to www.remarpro.com?
The WordPress.com link seems to be about some kind of $99 and $299 hosting.

In reply to: Is this the norm for themes?I don’t know why that turned everything I typed into a hyperlink when only the link had a anchor tag when I typed it.

In reply to: Is this the norm for themes? Also, can WordPress put ads on your WordPress blog?

In reply to: Is this the norm for themes?Maybe I’m confused. WordPress.com has $99 and $299 for some pay service that seems to be related to hosting and or tech support for WordPress. I already have godaddy.com. Is the additional benefit of WordPress.com that they offer tech support specifically for wordpress?
