I refuse to give WPMUDEV $75 a month to download the plugin for free
I feel the authors of these plugins that they offer for free with a paid subscription sold out.

I would not mind paying the author a few dollars to get the plugin with updates 15 or 20 bucks,

Getting back to the original problem where do users sign up for a new blog
I apologize if I’m hijacking this thread but since original author has not replied in a week and he closed it out as thanks for your help I’m having the same problem.

I registered as a new user in my WP3.0 rc2 network and I have no option for the user to make a site as a user in the main blog
these options are present in the super admin options section
Registration is disabled.
User accounts may be registered.
Logged in users may register new sites.
Both sites and user accounts can be registered.

I have “Both sites and user accounts can be registered” checked
and in the user dashboard there’s no option to create a site. logged out users can register.

If I have “Logged in users may register new sites” checked. there’s no option to create a site. and no option to register when logged out.

increasing the users permissions from contributor to author does not allow site creation. just allows him to author on the main site and I don’t want this anyway

I’m trying to open as soon as 3.0 is released want to get the jump on it.
