    Oh good grief. I saw on some of the replies that deactivating plug-ins could help some things. I did that, and it actually made the photo insert button start working again, and the “add new tag” is working properly.

    Unfortunately, now I have a bigger problem because when I go to the site to view a page or post, it puts the shell of my site up, including my ads and everything, but the section of the page where the posts should be is completely blank, it doesn’t even have the gray background it should have there.

    If anyone has anymore suggestions, please help.

    Thanks, Otto.

    I tried clearing cache but it didn’t change anything. I did the manual download through my control panel. How can I tell if it upgraded ALL the files?

    Sweet, I just did that, added your code:
    upload_max_filesize = 20M
    post_max_size = 20M
    to my php.ini file and saved it and it worked.

    I’m having issues with this as well. Only my max file size is a measly 2MB for some reason. I need to be able to add video, and of course that’s not nearly enough space.

    My php.ini file doesn’t even have a place in it for size like that, is it OK if I just copy and paste that code above into it though?

    Thanks webjunk. I finally got hold of the girl that build my layout and she had me go in the wp-config.php file, and that’s when I realized that when I changed my MySQL password on godaddy, it apparently didn’t get changed in the actual files. As soon as I did that, it seemed to start working again, and I got to do the automatic upgrade. Hopefully it’s all better now.

    I’m having the exact same message. When I went to upgrade to 3.0, it died in the middle and then my site started giving this same error “Error establishing database connection.”

    I had just backed up my database before this happened. All I did was “export” it and save it to my desktop, so I don’t see how that could have ruined anything – that is what the directions here said to do.

    I’m very confused…I don’t know how to “optimize” – “repair” and all that, and I can’t copy anything from my live site because I can’t get to my site at all – just that error shows.

    Please tell me someone knows what to do. ??
