Using a combined effort from Jetpack support and DHost, sorted out the problem.

1. Now have a valid SSL in place
2. it was corrupt urls in the php database; I tried to find the issues via Filezilla and SFTP connection, but DHost easily knew where to look and solved it for me.

Solved one aspect, managed to install a correct SSL cert via DreamHost.
However, still have the issue of not being able to access the wordpress dashboard to alter the plugins.

Will try DHost.

Thank u for responding; when I try to use the DreamHost admin, I get a 504 Bad Page error.

Even via the WordPress.com admin page, I still cannot access it.

So, I know I need to remove a rogue plug, and obtain a valid SSL Cert.
Problem is, how to gain access to remove the plug and how do I install a valid SSL cert?
