I had to update my PHP. My site had just been transferred to a new server with an older PHP. Once I updated it to 8.2, everything just worked.

This is a bit more complicated than I’m really interested in getting into. Thank you so much for your help though.

Hi, thank you for getting back to me. I don’t use Woo Commerce on my site. I installed WP Control and can now see a list of cron jobs. Selecting them gives me the option to delete them or run them. Doing this doesn’t seem to have any effect.

Thank you. My only concern is that the cron job or whatever it is, was using up resources making the site unreachable. I don’t actually have any posts or pages waiting to go post, newsletters waiting to go out, or automatic updates trying to run. Beyond something like that, I’m not sure what it would be running and honestly, I’m just not interested enough to spend hours and hours tracking down what it is.

Thanks so much for taking a look. I’m not entirely sure but I think the problem was a combination of plugins with login credentials that were interfering with each other. I was using Learndash, Booknetic, and WooCommerce. Getting rid of WooCommerce did the trick.

Thanks for the idea. I have the “force from email” checked already but it hasn’t helped. I still don’t receive notifications when others leave comments.

Oddly, the comments boxes do not appear on the blog pages, (although I have turned comments on in those places, but! they have turned on where I actually need them in the LearnDash student submission pages.

Actually, I have to apologize. This seems to have taken care of itself though I don’t know how.

I went to bed assuming I’d find a solution today and when I woke up it was fixed. I had tried clearing browser and caches yesterday as well so I’m not sure why it’s ok now and wasn’t yesterday.

And thank you for the suggestion.I double checked it and that is not ticked.
