I fixed the problem by disabling one of the widgets I installed after Media Vault, disabling Media Vault, and then enabling them again.

I size all my images to fit the featured image size, so there shouldn’t be any issues with the browser shrinking the images.

Plus, all of my images are hosted off-site.

I didn’t find the culprit, but everything is working again, including my Digg Digg floating social media plugin and categories are normal again.
I guess shutting everything down and restarting did the trick. Yay!

I deactivated all but 2 and the drop downs are working again. Now to turn them on and find the culprit….

Hello! I’m still having the issue. I’m going to disable all plug ins and switch them on one by one to see if it works. Any one have any advice?

I’m using the Sueva theme. I had the drop downs working before with this theme. This is recent, but I’m not sure what happened for it to occur.

Thanks everyone for the help. Shutting of and enabling the Analytic dashboard helped fix the byte time. I’m going to have to systematically fix the image issues, but we are making progress — and eating cookies while doing it!

I installed Cloudinary as WPRanger suggested, which brought my image compression from a D to B! That worked great.
Except now my First Byte Time went from a C to and F. Can anyone tell me what affects First Byte Time? Is this a problem with my host?

–I have yet to configure Autoptimize

Thank you for your help. I’ll configure Autoptimize and see if that helps. For the images, do I need to go in and resize them all individually? Or is there some faster/better way to do that?

Obviously, I need to have photos on the site. Maybe hosting them somewhere else?

Speed has improved slightly since deleting Jetpack, but I’d still like to figure out how to Parallelize downloads across hostnames. Pingdom.com gives me a “0” grade for that.
