    Hi Lisa,
    Thanks for the suggestions.
I tried creating new button blocks from scratch but couldn’t get them to centre align (even when centre aligned in the editor).
I would really like to understand what I may be doing wrong creating new buttons and whether the Buttons Place holder or the button itself should be centre aligned.
Subsequently I did successfully duplicate the one that still worked to create buttons that work.
Thanks again for everyone’s support – please let me know if anyone has a solution for this.

    Hi,
Thank you for these details – I can see the difference in the code but don’t know how this has been created by the editor or how I can fix it.
Unfortunately, if I try to edit the HTML in the editor it crashes the block.
I hope that someone will be able to identify the issue with the editor and advise on how to edit this (and my other pages with the same issue).
    Adrian.

    John,
Thanks very much for coming back.
Off course it makes sense now – just create another redirect with ‘do nothing’ for the login URL.
I have done this now and it is working great.
This is a truly great plugin!

    Thanks for reading this far.
In the end I tracked the problem to one specific plugin – Forget about Shortcode buttons. by deleting this plug in via FTP the site recovered!
I still don’t know what caused the plugin conflict, but at least the site is back up for now (minus its formatted buttons!).
As a result I suspect that the webhost was wrong about a website hack…
At least I now have a clean install of WP 5.1

As per troubleshooting help I found online I deleted all the files in my web route directory (except wp-config) and deleted the Includes and WP-Admin folders. I kept WP-content unchanged.
I then via FTP uploaded the core WordPress files with the latest version 5.1 downloaded today.
This still returned an HTTP 500 error.
I then renamed the plugin folder (plugin.old) and this time received the following error messages on accessing the site:-

Warning: include_once(/home/lintmana/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-super-cache/wp-cache-phase1.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/lintmana/public_html/wp-content/advanced-cache.php on line 22

Warning: include_once(): Failed opening ‘/home/lintmana/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-super-cache/wp-cache-phase1.php’ for inclusion (include_path=’.:/opt/cpanel/ea-php72/root/usr/share/pear’) in /home/lintmana/public_html/wp-content/advanced-cache.php on line 22

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/lintmana/public_html/wp-content/advanced-cache.php:22) in /home/lintmana/public_html/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 1251

This might indicate an issue with the plugins.I don’t know how to progress from here however. Please can anyone help?

    Thanks.

I have now heard back from my host who believe there may have been a site hack as there are some ‘rogue files’ in the site home folder. They have suggested a WordPress reinstall.

    Hi,
I have tried this as suggested but I am afraid still nothing – no debug.log is being created by the site.
I am still waiting for my host to come back but any other suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi.
Thanks for coming back so quickly.
WP_DEBUG is enabled but isn’t returning anything useful – just the standard message. I have raised this with the host and they are investigating why no detailed message is displayed.
If I can get more details I’ll post them here.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated…

Ok. It appears that this was mainly an scheduling issue as the site has now automatically updated.

I have completed a manual update.
I have run ‘healthcheck’ and site appears to be working ok.

However when I run the file integrity check (in the healthcheck plugin) I now get a number of errors – should I be concerned about this?

    Thanks for this advice.

This will provide a short term fix.
Is it possible as this is a standard default WordPress theme to get the theme CSS updated to support these editor features?

Otherwise it would be needed to manually edit all twenty seventeen theme sites every time there is a theme update.

Should I raise this separately in the twenty seventeen forum?

    Hi Hannah,
Thanks for coming back to me.

This issue has been resolved. It related to the N-Media WooCommerce PPOM plugin where selecting the AJAX refresh option was causing a conflict. By opting out of AJAX refresh the basket again works normally.

Apologies – I should have closed this thread yesterday when we finally got it working.

    Adrian.

    Hi,
    Thanks for your reply.
I have made a change since my original post to disable the AJAX validation option which appears to have fixed the update issue.

I am not sure why this should be the case.

I appreciate you taking the time to investigate.

    Adrian.
