In reply to: WordPress 3.9 seems to have removed ALL my imagesMumPages – For the site that was affected, do your images now show in your media library?
They show now. I copied every image (I couldnt be bothered only moving the affected images) into the /2014/04 folder. Now they all show up in the Media Library. I used simple logic – if I couldnt fix the URL I would put the pictures where the URL was pointing ??

In reply to: WordPress 3.9 seems to have removed ALL my imagesHere is an example of this, these are from the one page. Note that it only affected Featured Images and Galleries mainly. Here is one from the gallery with the modified URL, note the double slash too… I have NFI on that to be honest:
https://bellsabroad.com/st-peters-pool/https://bellsabroad.com//wp-content/uploads/2014/04/2013/10/St-Peters-Pool-057.jpg
Here is one from the same page that was not in the gallery but was unaffected:
https://bellsabroad.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/St-Peters-Pool-046.jpgMore affected links:
https://bellsabroad.com//wp-content/uploads/2014/04/2014/03/Oxford-047.jpg
https://bellsabroad.com//wp-content/uploads/2014/04/2014/03/Oxford-032.jpgThe issue occurred on every page that had a gallery.
I realise that WP won’t delete images in the upload folder, I figured that out fairly quickly ??
However, this issue happened immediately after I upgraded WP, and there were no issues whatsoever before this. I had deactivated every plugin also (after) to see if that helped.

In reply to: WordPress 3.9 seems to have removed ALL my imagesWell as an FYI to anyone who either stumbles across this via a Google search or here, I have a work around. Using your backup, copy via FTP every photo back into the directory WP thinks the photos are in.
IMO, this is an issue re settings/media where there is an option to save media under year/month.
I deselected this option on another site I have, and upgraded it to WP 3.9. Deselecting/upgrading/reselecting this option prevented the issue from occurring.
Hope that helps someone in the future. And I am just very disappointed in the WP team that they failed to either answer my post or to properly test the new version.

In reply to: WordPress 3.9 seems to have removed ALL my imagesOK to clarify, and after looking at the issue again – WP, since the update, has inserted what appears to be the year/month before images. IE mysite.com/uploads/2014/4/2014/3/image.jpg.
The images are still there in the same folder they always were in.
There must be a way to remove this prefix from all the links. Once done the site will revert to the way it was prior to the 3.9 update.
Can anyone advise how to do this?
[Please don’t bump]

In reply to: WordPress 3.9 seems to have removed ALL my imagesBevTheBoomer – sounds like the exact issue I had. Media library showing nothing but errors/blank images

In reply to: WordPress 3.9 seems to have removed ALL my imagesWhat folder were these in? WordPress upgrades lack the ability to delete wp-content/uploads (no, I’m serious about this).
Yes – thats where they were – spot on. I’m about to start troubleshooting again now, but it appears that some of the links have gone from (for example) /uploads/2014/04 to uploads/2014/4/2014/4 where its added an additional path to the image. I can see that I can manually go through and fix at least some of the issues… but what a serious PITA. Never had issues upgrading to new versions of WP before, but this was a fairly major change.
If you know how to resolve this it would be extremely helpful ??

In reply to: WordPress 3.9 seems to have removed ALL my images…am I the only one to get this issue..?
It appears part of the problem is that WP has added bits to the links to photos effectively breaking the links. WTF.

In reply to: WordPress 3.9 seems to have removed ALL my imagesI have checked the via FTP, and most of the photos are completely gone from the server. Some remain, but there are entire directories that seem to be a) deleted or b) cleared of contents.
F$#&ing angry about this, not happy at all. Thank god I tested the ‘upgrade’ on my own blog before unleashing it on a site I have with hundreds of paying customers. Not good enough WP.

In reply to: Fatal error: Call to undefined function nocache_headers()…line 32/14Thanks ajithrn ?? Excellent advice.
I did in fact find the issue last night – with the help of developer friends – the answer was found in my .hacklog :-/
Restoring wp-config.php was the solution, as was contacting my hosting provider. To say I was p*ssed off was an understatement!

In reply to: Fatal error: Call to undefined function nocache_headers()…line 32/14FYI ‘line 14’ in wp-blog-header.php reads:
wp();
…which is totally normal. My site gets quite a few hits each day and I have hundreds of paying customers, any/all assistance would be great… I would be in your debt… I am desperate!!! Please help.
