Thanks, got the footer where I wanted it. Needed to clear: both;. I just can’t get my white background on the main content and sidebar areas. Im trying to use a shadow PNG file for the edges.

I talked to my server admin, and they said I was getting these errors because somewhere during the install/update, its asking for a folder called blog, instead of my wordpress directory. Where would this come from, as its not in my themes, and my settings in wordpress are correct.

Mine is on a Cpanel server. Can I change the ftp server from Cpanel?

They should read these, they may learn a thing or two. Its really bugging me because I cant even update my plugins.

I cant even install plugins. I get an error code, then seem to set permissions to 777, and I get a different error code. I can do a manual install, but don’t want to have to do a manual install for plugins all the time.

I am having the EXACT same problem as EloquentBohemian. Im trying to do a few things. Install a plugin, install a new theme, and upgrade WP. All of them are giving me Could not create directory.: /public_html. When I delete the upgrade folder and re-set the permissions and try again, I get Could not copy file.:/public_html/blog/wp-admin/css/theme-editor.dev.css. Driving me nuts!
