Sure and thanks for the replies. The plugin works perfectly on the primary language side of the site, on both domains. It’s just the French side of the alias site still links to the primary for all the internal links on the site.
I’ll send this over to the email address you suggested, thanks for your time!
Essentially what I’m looking to do is have my non-multi-site WPML installation be accessable from two totally different domain names. I have two languages setup, English as the default and French as the secondary. I use the “directory” permalink structure so my English homepage would be example.com and the French would be example.com/fr/
I want to be able to visit a totally different domain, such as example2.com and example2.com/fr/ and see the exact same site as my primary domain, and when I’m browsering the secondary “example2.com”.
I’m being asked to do this for a company, I believe their goal is to have the backend of WP only accessible using the primary domain, regular web visitors would never be shown the primary domain, only the “alias”.
It’s really hard to research this because 99% of posts are for people looking to have a one-language-per-domain setup, such as example.com, example.de, example.fr, etc.
I need both my languages for both my primary “real” domain and the secondary “alias” domain intended for the public.
sigh.. okay I didn’t realize what question included pro features.
Okay I will do so now.
Oh okay cool thanks!
Tried the custom args option, worked like a charm! Thanks!
Also looking for a solution for this, I emailed tech support. I will post any solutions I receive on here if I receive one.
I realized I couldn’t upload any files to the media library either due to a permission error, my host changed the server file paths and I had to update my media file path settings in WP, so not actually related to the Ajax plugin at all.
What was the solution, also having this issue..

See this link below for a working solution, it currently requires changing a tiny bit of code in the meta.php file of the plugin.
It is unclear if this fix will be release through a WP plugin update.
Kk I will post my findings there as well, I’ve been doing some tests on a clone of a site with this issue, it would appear that the issue is caused by WP 5.5 and not WooCommerce. My first test was to stay on WP 5.5.1 and rollback WC to 4.3 from 4.4.1.
The issue persisted with a WP 5.5.1 and WC 4.3 combo. I then rolled back WP to 5.4.2 and the problem was gone, I didn’t even have to change back variable products from simple or anything, it just shows the correct product type right away.
Lastly I wanted to see if running WP 5.4.2 with WC 4.4.1 would reintroduce the issue, it did not.
I have no clue if WC 4.4.1 plays nice with WP 5.4.2 outside of this issue but this is my go to solution for now until either this plugin gets patched or I replace the plugin with the official Polylang one.
It should be noted my first troubleshoot was to disable the classic editor on my WP 5.5.1 with WC 4.4.1 installation, it didn’t help.

I also have the same problem @tominthephilippines describes. It seems to not actually effect the product type, even though it “reverts” to simple my product will save to whatever I choose (variable, group, etc.).
But whenever the edit page refreshes it visually changes to simple. Seems to be more of a front end bug in the edit screen than an actual product data issue.
I’m guessing we’re out of luck for a fix though, this plugin is abandoned right? Looks like I have to switch a bunch of ecom sites to Polylang Pro or whatever. I knew this day would come ??

In reply to: Memory Allocation – Allowed memory size is less than configuredHrmm interesting, I’ll try making the switch. You’re not the first person to say it’s a memory hog but I use it on so many shared hosting sites without issue, none of those other sites are on Hostgator though. I’m also not a fan of hostgator but I inherited the maintenance of this from other people :/
