    Thanks for your reply.

I am using classic editor to create and maintain a blog
I use the blog object from MP Blog and Widget plugin; I also use the Post object from classic WP
I insert media into the blog/post entry using Add Media button
When I want to switch out an image with a new one, I will edit the blog/post
Then I will select the image to be replaced
Then click the pencil to edit
I click the Replace button to choose a different image
    I select the replacement image
    I click the Replace button
The new image replaces the old one
    I save/update the blog/post
I go to MLA and find the replacement image
It is still in an Unattached status

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need more info.

btw, I am using WP Blog and Widget’s Blog object and not the traditional Post object.

Correct. There is no directly connection. But there is an indirect: Jetpack can be configured to send an email to blog subscribers whenever a new blog entry is published. It used to work for the custom post_type of “blog” that WP Blog and Widget uses. But it now appears that Jetpack does not trigger an email for the custom post_type any more, but only for the out-of-the-box type of “post”. I just wondered if you had any other WP Blog and Widget users had encountered the same issue.
