I do not use Textile nor Markdown. But what I mainly use is MarsEdit and NetNewsWire.

What could happen (ESPECIALLY for the category ASIDES which is in the sidebar), is that the RSS feeds which I post from NetNewsWire to my blog or directly from my web browser, need double-checking of code before posting.

Also, I did now DIS-able the option as you suggested, so far I did not see any difference, same amount of errors reported.

Furthermore I did find some basic, faulty tags in the feedback section (single quote instead of double plus a superflous <>). Will clean that up and checkout the rest later today.

I do understand your point. I’ve had my site completely validate but obviously something I’m adding is not clean code. Will go through it all… tsss… 68 errors! Thanks for pointing it out.

Anyone versed in session cookies? I would love to apply this to the “Multiple Random Images” plugin (which now with it’s option page has become even easier to use).

I also back to the patch and realized – doh! – that I had misunderstood the patch before… hehe… didn’t see the little plus and minus simbols in the beginning of the lines. After applying and deleting the correct lines, it works perfectly.

when I replace the existing code with the code from the patch, my complete options panel goes blank, no options available at all anymore. I just copy pasted the patch code over the existing few lines. what am I doing wrong?

Can’t get it to work.

I added an image.jpg file (vertical is the lenght of image, not sure if the applet wants it like that or horizontal aligned). Put that into wp/images/ directory.

put plugin into plugin folder and activated it.

the iimage_panorama folder I put into the wp-content folder

guess the question is what is returned as ‘siteurl’ is it https://www.mydomain or https://www.mydomain/wordpress ? tried it also w/o the wordpress (my index file is in mydomain directory).

the relative path I set to /wordpress/wp-content/iimage_panorama/
no error, just nothing shows. java is enabled. tried in omniweb and safari.

Neat, thanks. Yes, I rather wanted to avoid the legacy my-hacks.php file. I had tried adding the code to the index file before seeing your post but had tried it to put it just above the get header info which didn’t work ?? I do assume it should read minus, i.e. -12 to omit that category.

I need to clarify what I found. The problem is that if I select a parent category to show, it will automatically show all children categories too, what I did not want.

My solution was to move the offending child category under another parent category.

Well, there IS a definite bug in it when choosing which categories to show. I just can’t get it to show all the categories which I enter into the $cats_to_show line.

Is there a way to have just ONE NEGATIVE category, i.e. “show all but NOT this one on the front page” ?

yeah it’s great. go to the PP site, there is an addon, to integrate PP images into WP. but there is also a plugin, multiple-random-images (do a search here it) which works perfectly for pulling random images from wherever you point it to (e.g. the PP images folder).

Many months later – have you found a solution to your problem? I have the exact same problem: when clicking onto a parent category, it displays all children categories with their postings, but it’s not what I want. I want just that one parent category to be shown, w/o children. Is there any way to do this?

To be clear, I have e.g. a category parent with 15 postings and that has a child category with 5 postings. When selecting the parent I only want to see the 15 postings, not 20.

Creating another child and moving the postings from the parent into the child category is an option, but somewhat illogical, because then the parent displays zero postings in the list – IF the parent is supposed to display all child category postings, shouldn’t then the parent amount be the total of all postings, parent plus children?

Oddly enough : ‘1 2 3 17 4 5 6 7 8 9 ,11 ,20 ,21 ,10 ,19’; seems to work (moved the 17 further to the front in the listing and comma/space further back to the listing. Doesn’t make sense to me though, why like this and not otherwise. It actually does not seem to be as much as the 2 digit numbers but rather if I list more than 10 ID’s. Is there a cleaner solution than my ‘shuffling around until it seems to work’? Thanks for any input.
