In reply to: [Testimonials Widget] Unable to Add TagsThanks for checking back with me. I was able to add a tag in the Testimonial section using quick edit. I really think it is just this site, some other things don’t work on it either.
I set the rotation to 0 in the widget tool and it just kept rotating. No problem though as they decided they liked the rotation.

In reply to: [Testimonials Widget] Unable to Add TagsHmm..deactivating plugins didn’t change things. I think it just might be unique to this WP site, I inherited. I was able to add the tags with the quick editor. The tag feature works fine in another theme but in that theme the testimonials keep rotating even though the setting is 0. Go figure? Thanks for your help.
The sort using the field ID isn’t working for my form and I took a look at Wayne’s directory at his site and it appears not to be sorting new entries alphabetically. Any thoughts or suggestions?

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] New WordPress SEO update, can't edit SEO TitleI was wondering if it was only me that liked the “old way” better, now I see I am not alone. I did like that I could put the default title in and then edit it. To add the site tile if desired is now a cut and paste job. I loved it when it was a delete job, so much quicker for me.

In reply to: [Portfolio Slideshow] No Exclude Slides Checkbox WP 3.5Here is the shortcode, use exclude= followed by the attachment ID number of the image you want to exclude:
[portfolio_slideshow showcaps=true exclude="1293,1327"]
To get the image attachment ID number go to the media library and it part of the options displayed when hovering over the image thumbnail.
In this example, I am also showing captions by using showcapes=true.

In reply to: Restoring titles to inserted images in WordPress 3.5Thanks Les,
I really was surprised that WP 3.5 removed the image titles since it is an important part of SEO. Your plugin is a life saver.

In reply to: [Download Monitor] Unique downloads?I have noted the same thing. Comcast says this may have to do with packet requests, but it would be great if one IP address equaled one count.
Also is possible that this spam? If so how would I block spammers from the download?

In reply to: [Twenty Twelve] [Theme: Twenty Twelve] nav bar fails in IE8I had a very humbling experience regarding “moving forward”. Three years ago, I was hired by a nonprofit organization that provides at risk youth a supportive environment to get their GED and learn employment skills.
I redesigned their website and decided not to even worry about coding for IE6. Then after the site had been up for a month, I checked the site’s Google Analytics stats and found the 50% of the users were accessing the site from IE6. I realized then that many of their students and potential students didn’t have access to the latest and the greatest technology. Of course, I promptly added IE6 support to the site.
We can always choose another theme, but this is the new theme that will appear with a new WP installation with the next upgrade. So it is more than a gift theme. It represents the face of WP and best practices in coding. Best practices in my opinion, shouldn’t leave such a great percent of users behind.

In reply to: [Twenty Twelve] [Theme: Twenty Twelve] nav bar fails in IE8Well, I just discovered the IE 8 surprise. As much as everyone wishes that IE 8 and Windows XP would drop off the planet, it hasn’t happened yet. People from all walks of life are still running Windows XP and are unable to upgrade IE beyond 8, it is a shame that this theme doesn’t offer a standard menu experience for them. A designer would have to think twice before using this theme for a business site. Potential clients/buyers that are running XP would be offended or just plain baffled by the menu and move on to another easier to navigate site.

In reply to: [Weekly Class Schedule] [Plugin: Weekly Class Schedule] Width Too WideWell, much digging has provided me with the css, I needed to adjust the table. Mainly, the Twenty-Ten was adding padding to the cells, over-riding the plugin CSS.

In reply to: [Weekly Class Schedule] [Plugin: Weekly Class Schedule] Width Too WideJust tested this plugin on a new clean install of wp and found that the width can be sized in the twenty-eleven theme, but not the twenty-ten. I personally am not a big fan of twenty-eleven for a number of reasons. How would I get this plugin to work in twenty-ten? Thanks for any help you can give.
