In reply to: What kind of forum script wp.org use? It’s not a plug-in, it’s another software that currently cannot be integrated with the latest version of WordPress (i.e. 2.6.2). The software is called bbPress at bbPress.org. It’s a side project by the same people who did WordPress. They haven’t dedicated enough resources to it though, in my opinion.

In reply to: Pretty Permalinks Cause “Not Found” (Warning: Newb)Can someone tell me where I can go to find a solution to this problem? Should I hire a developer on Elance, for example?

In reply to: Pretty Permalinks Cause “Not Found” (Warning: Newb)<?php php_info() ?> caused an error. Googled it, and changed to <?php phpinfo(); ?> and the info page loaded. However, I did a ‘Find’ on mod_rewrite and the page doesn’t have that phrase in it at all.
What does that mean?
Thanks,

In reply to: Pretty Permalinks Cause “Not Found” (Warning: Newb)HandySolo,
Thank you for the reply.
I have read Using_Permalinks page, and mainly I’m confused about the mod_rewrite. What exactly is it?
I’m on a Linux server with GoDaddy.
Thanks,

In reply to: making admin post/page writing right-to-left oriented?Tijmen,
Yep! it works great. thanks.
however, it switched every textarea in the admin to rtl orientation. not that i mind it, but i hope it doesn’t cause problems in the future.
also, this change doesn’t effect the WYSIWYG editor.
for now, i’m gonna keep it rtl.
thanks all!

In reply to: What’s the best structure for my website?thanks for your suggestions everyone. i really appreciate all of them.
i found that the easiest way in my circumstances is to use multiple installations. Yahoo SmallBusiness web hosting made this really easy for me. With only a few clicks i can have a second, a third, or a fourth instance of WP. as many as i like.
i just have to keep track of the changes i make in core files so that i remember to copy them to my new installations.
thanks,

In reply to: What’s the best structure for my website?well, i’m with yahoo smallbusiness. through phpMyAdmin, i think i can create as many databases as i want.
which is the easier solution for me, multiple installations or wordpress MU?
on wordpress’s description page it says “due to its complexity installation and maintainance is not supported in the same manner WordPress is.”
is it really that complex?
thanks,
