The file that the plugin is looking for can be found on their github here: https://github.com/strangerstudios/paid-memberships-pro/blob/dev/includes/updates.php If you’re developer savvy you can throw that updates.php file into the \wp-content\plugins\paid-memberships-pro\includes\ folder which will resolve the issue until they release an update.
