Hi, Todd. I’m having similar problems. Whenever anyone comments, they get

“Spam Free WordPress rejected your comment because you did not enter the correct password or it was empty.”

I’ve had to deactivate the plugin for now.

I got a license key. I am using it on 4 blogs. I didn’t want to have to get a license key for each blog. I am wondering now if this is causing the problem?

Also, the visit seemed attack-y. The Firewall plugin sent me about 100, 150 emails about the attack all from the same IP within a period of 2 minutes or so.

Just plain weird. Wonder what it is??

This looks like a great plugin but I’m having a few problems, I think:

In the area where I’m supposed to enter my domains, I get this:

<b>Warning</b>: implode() [function.implode]: Invalid arguments passed in <b>/home/myserver/public_html/mysite/wp-content/plugins/configurable-hotlink-protection/settings-page.php</b> on line <b>81</b>

?? I had to deactivate the plugin in case it would mess with my site. Can you help me?

Secondly, does the plugin automatically protect image files? I see none in the custom list.

Someone posted some instructions. I’ll paste it here so that no one freaks out like I did!

Update plugin.
Go to your Theme Editor.
Find the code for the Content Gallery plugin (it’s usually in the “home.php” file but your location may vary depending upon where you have the plugin inserted).

Find the code that says:

<?php include (ABSPATH . ‘/wp-content/plugins/content-gallery/gallery.php’); ?>

Replace it with this:

<?php include (ABSPATH . ‘/wp-content/plugins/featured-content-gallery/gallery.php’); ?>

Save.

Check your website and refresh. You may need to clear your cache to see the change.

Holy cow!!!! Updating completely messed up my home page!!!!!!! I run a professional site! Why wasn’t it made clear that this is what would happen?

I went to that link and dfound nothing to help me!!!! I need to get this plugin up and running. Please provide some easy instructions??

Another bit of information– Akismet seems to be stuck. It is showing (1) spam comment in the dashboard. When I go to the page to Delete it, nothing is there to delete. The (1) will not disappear.

Please, do any moderators or anyone have any ideas to try?

I’ve tried disabling my plugins.
I’ve tried switching my theme.
I’ve tried switching my comments settings, and then back again.

Nothing works!

Additional information:

I have several blogs all on the same web host.

Blog #1: Comments do not work. I had updated the Akismet plugin to the newest version. I disabled the plugin. Comments still do not work.

Blog #2: Comments work. I had updated the Akismet plugin to the newset version. So it’s not the Akismet plugin causing the problem.

Blog #3. Comments work. The Aksimet plugin is NOT updated to the newest version yet. This confirms that Akismet is not the problem.

ANYONE have any help? I’m lost.

I am getting the same thing, as of yesterday. The only thing I did was update Akismet automatically.

I can’t figure out how to fix it. My readers are unable to comment. Anyone have any suggestions??

I think this may have something to do with the setting at your web host’s server. Something similar happened to me– they’d set their dates to January 1, 2002 a month ago! Messed up everything.

That’s what it was, a DNS issue. A few people who were lcked out all came in at about the same time. Case closed! Thanks.

I think the problem has more to do with my web host settings than the theme. I have blogs with another host, and things work just fine for me there.

I’ve had the problem ever since my web hosy changed some DNS settings and moved everything to another server. They weren’t very specific about what they did, and their tech help is a dismal failure. So I think it is some settings that I need to change, but don’t know what nor how.

I have the same complaint. Akismet is great for preventing most spam from getting into the posts, but there is a TON of spam, and I have to manually hash through all that disgusting crap to delete it. Sometimes I get real comments from real readers, so I have to go through it one by one. I get about 1,000 spam comments A DAY and I have FOUR blogs. It’s absolutely overwhelming.
