Firstly I’m no expert on these things but a couple of things to try.

1. What version of PHP is your site using? That might be the issue.

2. In the past when I’ve had problems with installing plug-ins of any kind. I’ve FTP’d in to my site gone to the wp-content/plugins folder and looked for the problematic plug-in. Delete the folder for that plug-in.

Then try reinstalling it. Most times that does work for me.

Upgrading to WordPress 5.3 cured the problem without disabling other plug-ins.

At the time this bug occurred WP5.3 wasn’t offered as an upgrade.

Yours was the only plug-in I deactivated and it then all started to work again.

If I get time I will look at your trouble shooting guide thing.

Agreed the new version has broken the Classic Editor, not able to switch from visual to text or text to visual. It basically stays in the last function you were using in the site before the upgrade of this plugin.

Deactivate All in one SEO and it all worked again.

Yes having the same problem here, it stops the switching from Visual to Text or from Text to Visual.

Which ever you were in last time it stays in that. Deactivating the plug-in cures it.

Plug-in updated 19 hours ago so it was the obvious one to look at first.

I have gone over to Backup WD which seems to work very well.
