In reply to: [Gutenberg] Gutenberg and AutosaveForget it. I Opened “Preview” in a new tab, went to the bottom of the post preview, clicked “edit,” which brought me back to the dashboard in NOT stuck in autosave mode, and clicked on publish from there and it’s now posted. Meanwhile, my original working version page is still stuck in autosave mode. So is this going to be the way I have to work around this issue every time I post something?

In reply to: [Gutenberg] Gutenberg and AutosaveHow do I switch back to classic mode, and can I do it when I’ve already started a post? Now that Gutenberg has been forced on us, I just spent an hour adding and formatting my first blog–a process that usually takes me about 15 minutes, and it is indeed now stuck in “saving” mode, so I can’t publish it.
Thanks, Ryan. It worked. Big site, so backup took overnight.
Much appreciated.

Jeremy, you rule.
Hey Jeremy,
Yes, it’s boysbearsandscares.com, formerly danielwkelly.com

I think I’m having the same issue on my site. I changed my domain name through Go Daddy – I assumed any shortlinks I had in my posts and pages pointing to other pages on my site would be dead, but I’ve quickly discovered that when I use “get shortlink” to post to social media with my new domain name, clicking that link directs to my old site name. In fact, getting shortlinks for my existing pages actually generates the same exact shortlink that was generated under my old domain name. Is this something I should be going to Go Daddy about or is it a WordPress issue? Thanks in advance.
PS: I’ve learned my lesson – from now on, I’m only using full URLs on my site, because I was able to use a plug-in to find and change all those automatically!

In reply to: Website is down for at least 12 hoursI was on the phone with Go Daddy for quite a while. My site was back up and running earlier, but I still couldn’t get into the dashboard. Now my site is down again and I can’t get into my dashboard, so I’m back at square one.

In reply to: Website is down for at least 12 hoursI learned that there’s no reported outages (which made me think…well, except mine…). If I can’t get onto my wordpress dashboard either, wouldn’t that mean the problem lies with my wordpress account?
kofcbozeman, when you uninstall NextGEN completely, does it have any effect on the hundreds of pix you’ve already posted on your website using nextGEN in the past? I’m afraid to completely get rid of it and then reinstall it only to find everything I’ve done previously has been undone.
The update is still causing my dashboard to crash, unfortunately.

In reply to: [Ultimate TinyMCE] link/unlink permanently disabledWell, your fix FIXED the link issue. It’s everything else that’s the problem. with NextGEN activated, my site crashes constantly and I can’t sign into my dashboard–it won’t even load the dashboard sign in page. For a while I was able to get in and insert one photo in a blog most of the time before the crash, but it somehow got progressively worse and now after a while, I have the problems I just described.

In reply to: [Ultimate TinyMCE] link/unlink permanently disabledOK. Thanks, Josh. I did as you said. I even got rid of plugins i don’t use, so now I’m down to:
Contact Form 7
JetPack
MP3-JplayerWith all of those on and NextGEN gallery off, my site is working. So does this mean I just have to sit tight and wait for an update of NextGEN that will hopefully fix this?

In reply to: [Ultimate TinyMCE] link/unlink permanently disabledI’m really at a loss here. I have all my plugins shut off because it’s the only way I can guarantee that my site stays up, but now I basically can’t post anything new because all the functionality I need is in my plugins.

In reply to: [Ultimate TinyMCE] link/unlink permanently disabledJosh,
it fixed the add link buttons for me, but my site is still going down daily, and when that happens, i also can not sign into wordpress. So i haven’t even had a chance to see if it will allow me to add pix using NextGEN. I get 500 Internal Server Errors. Could this huge problem still be related to nexGEN? Thanks.

In reply to: [Ultimate TinyMCE] link/unlink permanently disabledI’ve also disabled the contact form included in Jetpack…I found an article about how that conflicts with Contact Form.
