@lhopkin mine didn’t have superscript on a fresh plugin install. That’s with no modifications whatsoever.

This is exactly what I was looking for. The only question I have, is which file to do I edit to add this code? Is it advanced-excerpt.php? functions.php in the main wordpress folder or functions.php in the advanced excerpt folder? Thanks for any clarity you can offer.

Apparently there is no way to solve it. It would require someone to write code to bypass the way WordPress has set things up.

Thanks for responding. No one over there could help me and they don’t offer official support so I just got a refund for the theme. Frusterating experience.
