This can be related to the browser or the device you are using. I have tested the plugin on different desktop devices, with MacOS and Windows, using Safari, Chrome and Firefox.

I just released the 1.4.0 version of the plugin which includes some bugs fixes and new features about plugin settings.

Please check new version of the plugin (1.4.0). I fixed the user role selection problem that you mentioned.

Notice that the Settings page can only be accessed by administrator. The user role selection only works for the notification page (recent order page).

Since our plugin needs to refresh the page, creating and using a shortcode for plugin functionallity may interrupt the normal usage in other admin pages and this is something more annoying for site managers.

The refresh time field in the settings will be effective after the first order is received, meaning when the order table in the plugin is available. In your case, since you have not receive any orders yet, it will refresh the page on every 5 seconds.
