to anyone suffering like myself, believe it or not i fixed the problem.

the .htaccess was corrupted and could not be read

so i deleted it created a new one and TADA

i tried to set up a subdomain test.mrcherry.co.uk but it failed i submitted a ticket to just host; this is their reply

Seems according Nominet rules .co.uk domains have own rules for itself
So, you should create subdomian test.mrcherry.co.uk at your ns.123-reg.co.uk registrar and point it to our IP (as you did with domain name)
Or you should point the domain to our nameservers. In this case all your subdomains (created on our server) will work properly

im not sure about this but im goin to try changing my name servers and see what happens, although i cant see why it would break when i worked before ??

the resulting page also notes that it is a dns error

ive just tried to create a subdomain through my cpanel but i get the same result as when i do it virtually via wordpress

i am certain it is a server side problem but it seems i may need help to diagnose it and baby-feed them the solution.

The wildcard subdomain *.mrcherry.co.uk has been properly recreated and pointed to your public_html/

the domain name is at 123-reg and just host is my server. i have a cname record pointing to my domain so i wonder if what he is saying is correct ??

my install is in the root https://mrcherry.co.uk , i added wildcard dns . Everything was working perfectly and then i suddenly went wrong

this is the same problem i am having and have been having for a couple or months, i checked with my host (justhost) and they confirmed the wildcard subdomain is set correctly on the root domain. Any ideas n e 1???

ive also just had all user permissions re-granted by my host ???

All the tables are present, also when i view the wp_registration_log table it shows me
that new site are being registered.

Also the blog dir, is not creating a new folder for the site as per normal

I’ve noticed that my domain mapping screen looks odd;
the first line used to display the original subdomain i.e officialanisa.mrcherry.co.uk

So i worked out that through the php admin i can identity the database, but which files do i need to check permissions on and what are the correct permissions?
