Hi Johnny,
Not yet. I just returned to my inbox today to find both you and Carles had posted, so I just now sent the requested email.
I’ll post here when a solution is available if Carles doesn’t beat me to it.
Huh. No, I’m afraid that is incorrect. It’s definitely the k-news plugin.
I deactivated, then reactivated it, and did not get the URL rewrite problem. Until I clicked the “Use WordPress internal cron” button. Then the URL was rewritten again.
Once again, I chose the host cron option, set up the job, and still get the error box, and still have the rewrite problem.
Well, I appreciate the help, but it seems you are correct that K-news is not the culprit. I have both deactivaed K-news and deleted the cron job and still have the url rewrite.
So, thank you for your patience; I will look elsewhere.
I am using 1.2.4. The red warning goes away after your test.

In reply to: Cron job rewriting URLNo, it’s not the host’s script. It’s a WP plug-in, Knews. The backend is cPanel, and they have no info on this.
I’m not asking anyone to debug the script, merely to let me know of any other resources that might help me to figure this out. Extensive googling has not been fruitful.
Yes, I did read the Cron tutorial, and the job is set up properly and it runs. There is still an error in the Knews configuration page that says it’s not set up.
Hi Carles,
So I have followed your link and added the ALTERNATE_WP_CRON line to wp-config, have gone through my settings in k-news, have contacted my host company, and no joy.
In my k-news configuration panel, there is a red warning that my cron job has not been set up, even though it has and is working. Could this be related to the issue? I’m using my host’s cron tool, not the internal WP one.
I’ve looked all over for more information on this issue, but other than this page and the one you linked, I’m not seeing anything else. If this is normal and not related to Knews, why do I not find more info on it?
Can you point me to any other resource that might help?
Thanks,

In reply to: [Sliderly] [Plugin: Sliderly] Unique IDs for each slideI found your css file, and was able to make a couple of changes (such as changing the background of the caption div from an image to a color.)
It would be nice to be able to rewrite some of the html, in order to have more control over the final layout. It’s not really a huge deal; I think it looks great; the client just wants something a bit different, and I am hoping to prevent her from adding her text directly into her images.
I realize I *can* rewrite the html, of course, but this would prevent me from ever updating the plugin.
(Small donation sent; sorry it’s not more, but I work for tiny non-profits.)

In reply to: [Sliderly] [Plugin: Sliderly] Unique IDs for each slideHow wonderful! Thank you so much. I will Paypal you a little something in appreciation.
There is one other thing I would like to do with your plugin. On that same home page, in addition to the gallery, there is also a slideshow, and the client wants a different layout for it. She’d like the caption to the right, comprising about 30% of the total width.
I see how to make that happen, but it would be at the expense of being able to update the plugin. I wonder if there could be an option to add custom themes?
No hard feelings if that’s more than you want to mess with; I was just hoping to avoid having the client write her captions on her images, rather than using the fields in the plugin, because that would offend me deeply ??

In reply to: [Facebook] can't access wp-admin after downloadin Facebook for WordPressI had this same problem, and didn’t see any errors in my logs. But then I looked at my server’s list of outgoing connections and saw that it was blocking about six different Facebook IPs. Checked “allow” for all of those, and it’s all good.
