i would prefer no to for this one… ((please take note that all the other wordpress theme will have childs from no on, count on me, i love child theme now that I know them more…)) but is there a way non-child for this one timer ?? Just this one, i promise no to “not use child” again after.

Because I dont see how WP will do better having my loop.php custom, versus hading a child with loop-index.php custom… at the end it shoud be the same result, no ?

So if my loop.php doest make my modification… how can this child whould do it better than ?

ho… btw, I just checked and mysite.com/category/catname DOES get the_excerpt working well !!
but as said, mysite.com/blog doesnt

I just started to use child theme 2 weeks ago… (Super!) But that site in CMS style has no child and many modifications to it so I would prefer a no-child way for this one ??

I should save my image images in photoshop at maybe 600px, then I should put in WP like

so my “origanl uplaoded image” will always be smaller so no resizing will be done by the system ??

I am thinking about using WP as my CMS now. So my homepage would be remaded like a magazine-style and my Articles would be divided by the the Categories, and the standard News would be in the Blog page.

hum, yes in some way… you can open and edit the html-php-css-js files froms a web software like Dreamweaver does… but to manage your site you will be able to do this online via the Admin panel (since it is a CMS)

OK, I did have this same exact probleme and steps as above. I know many people got this trouble. After a couple tries, I gave up I found this post via Google. Thanks. But not working for me, so here is what I did and now it is working super fine !
(seems like the installer of WP was missing stuff)

– login to your ftp
– make your wp-content folder 755
– inside wp-content create a new folder called “uploads”, make it 777
– inside the control admin panel, go to settings>miscellaneous and on the first line enter “wp-content/uploads” as where your uploads will go to.
Save and go try to ad a new image in a post and it will work superb !
