In reply to: [WP Mobile Detector] remove advertiseI did some investigation and found that ads are shown unless you buy the premium version of the plugin. (https://websitez.com/download/ click on the “not mobile ad supported”) While I appreciate the time and effort that went into the plugin, I don’t appreciate the fact that it takes this much research to discover where the ads are coming from. Please just say say that the plugin is supported by ads.

In reply to: [WP Mobile Detector] remove advertiseI’m getting the same thing. A feature of version 1.7.7 is “Mobile Ad Support”. That seems to mean that other people’s ads show up on the mobile version of my websites. Is there a way to turn it off?

Thanks so much for starting this thread. It was very helpful to know that someone else was seeing this too!

In reply to: Share And Follow – Facebook has 'https://' in address twice.I was finally able to find where to report a bug on Facebook. (https://www.facebook.com/KnownIssues) I left a report. I guess now we wait. I’ll be interested to see how long it takes for others to notice this issue.

In reply to: Share And Follow – Facebook has 'https://' in address twice.I did a blog postabout this yesterday. I’ve been looking for news about this matter ever since. Your post is the ONLY other mention of this problem that I’ve seen.
I still suspect that it’s a Facebook problem. But it’s a little difficult to replicate because of the “shared previously” issue. Larger, more popular, bloggers may not notice this issue until they have new posts.

In reply to: Share And Follow – Facebook has 'https://' in address twice.I started seeing this yesterday. It’s occurring on multiple sites, hosted by multiple companies and using multiple sharing plugins. I suspect it’s a problem with Facebook. Can anyone else confirm this?
BTW – I have noticed a small anomaly. The share functionality DOES work for links that were shared previously.
Have you seen the code that powers this plugin? It’s really minimal and straight forward. I too wonder if the slow down was caused by something else.

In reply to: Google ads show shortly, then disappearI had the same problem. Ads worked fine in FireFox, but in IE they would show for a second and disappear. Oddly enough though this was only for most of the site. On some pages, older pages, the ads showed perfectly.
On a whim, I deactivated my “Add to Any” plugin and things are now showing up just fine. I looked at some of your sites and most of you are running that plugin as well. You might give this a try and see if it helps.

In reply to: Upgrade WordPress Nothing HappeningI am having the same problem as Hayem. The installation just hangs. Of course I can do the manual upgrade, but one of the most publicized features of 2.7 was the built-in automatic upgrade. The fact that it doesn’t seem to work is VERY disappointing.
Assuming the problem is that the website host doesn’t allow “unpacking” is there some setting that we can ask them to change?

In reply to: media-upload.php errorSorry Otto42, the answer to this problem for me was not in the page that you listed. Instead the answer was on this page:

In the general settings for the blog I’d been creative and put some capital letters in the URL. Once I changed everything to lower case the “permission denied” errors went away and I can now upload photos.

In reply to: [Plugin: Search and Replace] DO NOT install on 2.6Worked great for me on 2.6.3. It saved me HOURS of work.

In reply to: WP Says Image Uploaded, But Image is Broken/Not there in FTPThanks to YOU for posting the solution. I was having the same problem. I agree that it’s a WP bug. I didn’t change any settings either. Until I made the change you suggested my images were not being uploaded at all. Yikes! Thanks again for your help!

In reply to: 2.5 upgrade.php?step=1&backto= is blankI had the same problem. The website host discovered that the PHP settings for my blog on the server had safe_mode turned on. Once safe_mode was disabled it worked fine.
