Well, nevermind … I found another post and apparently the creator has abandon this plugin.

I’ve got this one installed on a site:

I found it a bit confusing to figure out at first and it’s got some very nice features but on the other hand I’ve got some problems w/it. I copy/pasted text in for answers from my original FAQ which was not an FAQ plugin but just a page with Q’s and A’s. When I pasted in the text, it removed removed my in-page links which were created using RB-Internal Links. The backend code is there for the links:

but the links don’t show up on the pages. In fact the text that is supposed to be linked is not even on the page, so parts of sentences are missing where there is supposed to be text link to another page on the site.

It also doesn’t read: <!–nextpage–> so pages that were originally 2-3 “pages” are now one very way to long page. This code is also visible in the backend, but it doesn’t make a new page.

It doesn’t have, use or set itself up to use any kind of editor so any code you input like em or strong tags must be hand coded. From what I can tell, there’s no way to get it to use the WP editor or the TinyMCE editor which is what I’ve got installed.

I sent a request for help from their site help area probably about 2 weeks ago, but haven’t heard anything back. I could probably deal with no editor and just hand code what I need, but I cannot do w/o the in-page links. I’m going to be trying another request for assistance but in the mean time I’m going to have to look elsewhere because this is holding me up.

If anyone has a fix for this, I would be very grateful to hear it.

Interesting, it worked on the one site, but not working on another. I would think this would work for any site.

I had this working and for some reason it’s disappeared off the TinyMCE toolbar on one of my sites. This site uses version 2.6.3 of WP. Yes, I know I should upgrade, but at the moment since I’ve never gone thru the upgrade process before, I don’t have time to learn it tonight. Anyway … I have tried downgrading it to an earlier version of RB with no luck. I have cleared my cache several times, still no luck. This is affecting both IE6 and Firefox.

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Does anyone know if someone has come up with a way to do this yet? I have to much stuff on my sidebar and need to move things around.

I’m not a php wiz, but I manage to edit templates in pretty much the same way. You DO have to be careful if you start deleting and commenting things out. Commenting out not so bad because you can uncomment. Either way, you can wind up breaking things so part(s) or all of the site doesn’t work.

Before editing a template the first thing I do is to make a copy of it and save the original as it was. That way if I need code from it or need to look at what was there originally, it’s available.

I don’t know how to code php, but I’ve become pretty good at editing someone elses template as far as removing what I don’t want etc. So, no you really don’t need to know how to code, you do need to have the ability to more or less figure out what code you want to remove.

I find I usually have to edit the code to remove what I don’t want, but more often the css because many “out of the box” templates don’t validate.

I don’t have any blogs that require registration, so that doesn’t apply. I will double check the settings again. I was leaning towards it being a server/host thing, but I really don’t think that’s the case either because I don’t experience other email troubles.

After you’re finished upgrading your plugins ALWAYS reset the permissions back to 755 or whatever it was previous to you changing it to upgrade. 777 leaves things wide open – not good!

spellsinger – your page is not working – says the plugins deactivated.

My test results: I tried it, it seems to be a very nice start, darn close to what I need (simple and easy). It doesn’t have a thank you page or any notification to the submitter that their submission was sent anywhere. That to me is a must so people know they were successful. I love the fact that these submissions must be approved before being posted. I also have tried this three times from scratch and over the past hour or so and I cannot get a test submission received in the admin. I have no clue where it’s going but they’re not being rec’d so I can’t post them and they’re not showing up on the page on their own which is good. I’ve notified the developer of this and made a few suggestions (like the thank you page after submission). Anybody had a problem w/the submission posting to the admin for approval & a fix for that?

I’ve downloaded the https://www.alectang.com/wordpress-link-directory/ but I see no instructions for installing or setting it up. I tried uploading it to my plugins folder and it did not show up on my plugins page so that I can activate it. Yes it was unzipped and I uploaded the folder keeping the folder structure. I don’t see any instructions on the developers web site nor in the folder I downloaded and not having any luck searching the plugins. Any one have the instructions they can give me a link to or tell me where I can find them? Thank you.
