  • I am having the same problem and tried the code given by esmi but it didn’t change the comment post dates. I’ve tried a few other codes as well, but the front end still shows one date which is the wrong date. I just checked and found that all comments for every post are all dated nn the front end the date of the original post even though the original date of post is correct in the admin. This particular site uses WP 2.9.2. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

I have my comments set in the admin to display newer to older yet the blog displays older to newer.

I agree this feature needs some help. To be forced to store all uploads in one folder is frustrating when you may have hundreds of uploads. It would be great if there was a plugin or feature to first select what folder within “uploads” that you wish to upload a file to and then when you want to use that image/file to be able to select which folder to get the image/file from. This feature is currently just way to restrictive. When you have as many uploaded files/images as I have, ORGANIZATION is the key to success and currently there’s no way to easily do this. Considering WP is so customizable, it’s really amazing this isn’t available.

Did you set your uploads folder location in the admin? I believe you find this on the “miscellaneous” admin page.

Is there no one that can help me out with this, please?

slefever1 – did you ever find what you needed? If so, please share, I need it, too. Thanks.

GatewayCDD … would you mind sharing specifically just how you did this? I’m looking for a document management system … thanks!

Would you please share what file these fixes should be made in? Will it fix the fact that my results are no longer visible?

I’m also a little confused, isn’t this normally something that would be handled by updating the plugin?

    Thanks,
    MC

By process of elimination, I found that Simple Tags has a problem with the TinyMCE editor in WP 2.8.4. When Simple Tags is enabled, my TinyMCE editor is not working in Firefox 2 but does work in Firefox 3. I cannot edit my page/post text, cannot add text because nothing shows up in the editor box. Also, some features of the WP admin are not available either. Hope this helps.

I also just now found out that by disabling my Simple Tags plug in, my TinyMCE editor works again, so there’s one plug-in that apparently doesn’t play nice with TinyMCE at least in my setup. Hopefully, this info will help someone as well.

I’m not sure what you refer to when you use the word “dynamics” but maybe it’s the same problem I’m having.

I can no longer use Firefox 2 to do much of anything in my site. I click and nothing happens. The only fix so far has been to use another browser which doesn’t make me happy at all.

My TinyMCE editor no longer works properly either (but that’s another topic).

I can’t get the “Screen Options” to open, I rest my admin from 2 columns to 1 to see what it did, didn’t like it, tried to put it back and it won’t go back.

Right now I have the left side admin links section and things there seem to be working ok, but anything on the right side of the page where you add/edit pages & posts – doesn’t work.

I take it back, there are a number of widgets that will only allow me to add them to one sidebar.

The only widget I can’t seem to add to multiple sidebars is the Search widget. Once it’s used, it’s no longer available for use. Another post that’s closed to additional posting says that ALL widgets are now able to be used in multiple sidebars as of v2.8 but that’s not happening for me ??

I tried mihneaboiangiu’s fix and it didn’t work for me ??

I also tried irishb’s fix, since he/she didn’t say what file he/she used to replace the existing one, I took the one from my last version (2.7 something) and tried that, no happy dance here ??

I noticed there are several changes in that js/tinymmce folder, for example the wordpress.css is not there, some other files are not there, there’s a zip file in there now which I thought was strange. I checked my previous version, no zip file in that one.

    I just fixed mine … ?? yayyyyy!

Any of you that are experiencing this problem, make SURE you have:

    <?php wp_head(); ?>

in the proper place in your header. I just found that this was missing in mine and once I added it, my meta description tags are BACK!

I have just realized that my meta description is now missing as well. I have downgraded and upgraded and upgraded and downgraded several times. I cannot get this tag to come back into place. I just now downloaded the newest version 1.6.4 and installed that, still not appearing. This is absolutely crucial to have working right. I will continue to look for a fix, but it would sure be appreciated if you’d update the plugin asap, I also just upgraded to the newest WP as of today’s date prior to this happening. (2.8.4)
