]]>I was looking into a solution and I believe I found it with your plug in. I understand with the frequency of plug ins being generated that some eventually vanish due to lack of support usually. Before I press on and use this plugin I’d like to know if this plug-in will continue to be supported in the future?
As we all know code changes alot, espesially for most social media websites. Plugins that rely on this code often become broken by virtue of updates.
I would even contribute with a donation if it were available to keep this plugin viable. Thanks you.
]]>I’m using the current version of bebop, only the Rss content is working and other are giving error. When anybody click on Facebook Authorize link it shows Facebook profile linked sucefully, but no option seen to the user, and in the Admin panel, I only see the Username and Email of the User not the Facebookid That is why its not importing the facebook contents.
Twitter is asking for some v1.1 Authentication. I can’t understand the problem of it.
On the time of installation I tried on my profile and my profile was linked sucessfully and links were importing, but when other user use the same procedure there feed dosen’t import. My FB id is shown in the Admin panel but not others.
Please help
]]>Hi,
I’m relatively new to web development but I am working on https://www.greenisglobal2014.org using the Commons In A Box theme – it’s a community site for schools. I’m testing Bebop with our own company’s feeds and would like our schools to be able to use it, but – I have a problem with getting Twitter feed through Bebop. I saw that there was an issue with this earlier in the forum but I don’t think it answered my question.
I’ve gone through installation and set-up. Youtube and Vimeo feeds are working, I’m able to verify content and see it appear on my profile. However although I added the Twitter API key and secret, my feed isn’t showing up in Resources>Content Manager. Any idea? Sorry if this is a rookie error but I think I followed the instructions correctly.
Thanks in advance,
Kate

Now all my flickr or facebook updates appears all together as updated 7 second ago.
I mean… 100 activity update with 100 different photos of my flickr… the other users can be upset!

Hi all,
It is with regret which I am releasing Bebop 1.3.2 as the final version of Bebop for the foreseeable future. I have supported this plugin for as long as possible but with no revenue streams I cannot justify maintaining the plugin any longer.
If an experienced developer wants to take on the plugin then please let me know.
Thanks,
Dale

Hi All,
For anyone having problems after updating to 1.3.0 Please simple deactivate and reactivate Bebop. A slight error has meant the update script is not firing as it should.
I’ll release a patch as soon as I can get a one made!

Here’s a related post on the make wordpress site that may be of use:

I’m currently using bebop to grab 100+ RSS feeds from twitter (Can’t use Twitter oAuth because the buddypress profiles are just representations of politicians, not the politicians themselves.) It seems as though the server cron is missing most the feeds most of the time. ( Example: “RSS Error: A feed could not be found at https://api.twitter.com/1/statuses/user_timeline.rss?screen_name=john_burris. This does not appear to be a valid RSS or Atom feed”) I’ve got it set to run every 5 minutes, but some users may not have any items added for hours at a time. When they do import, they import all of the activity missed at once.
Is there any way to increase the reliability of the RSS feeds importing? Why would bebop find the feed URL invalid at random?
Thanks a bunch!
PS – I know Twitter is dropping RSS support in the spring, but I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it. The solution will likely involve converting the json to an rss format so I can continue to feed tweets to buddypress this way.
Best,
Josh
Hello
Thanks for your plugin!
Can you add to the list of supported platforms, VK.com?
They have the detailed developer api:
https://vk.com/developers.php
Newly added feeds do not show up in the RSS provider config page.
However, I can see that the user is using the RSS provider in the admin settings page.
So, not sure why the feed does not show up. Also, see the following error in the log. Not sure what it means though.
Import Error – rss 41353917820 already exists
]]>I am trying to get my Twitter feed to show up in my Activity Stream. I receive the following error:
Twitter has not yet been configured. Please contact the blog admin to make sure Twitter is configured properly.

I don’t see any documentation on setting it up. I activated Twitter in Admin/Content Providers with RSS Enabled.

Do I need to enter a Twitter API Token and Secret? How would that work with multiple users adding various Twitter accounts to their stream?
TYIA for any help.

How will this affect Bebop?

Anyone looking for a Buddystream alternative, your wait is over. This plugin works and is apparently resourced for further development. More platforms will surely be added. Although originally intended for educational and teaching resources it already imports, for example, twitter, flickr, youtube, vimeo & slideshare – for free. Could be a turbo-charger for buddypress.
]]>Many thanks for this plugin.
Created twitter application
Set Access level to Read & Write
Created Access Token
Inputed Access token into Twitter API Token
Inputed Access token secret into Twitter API Secret
Saved Changes
But still
No users found for the Twitter extension.
Then in Open Educational Resources—->Accounts—->Twitter —–>Start Authorisation ——-> Failed to validate oauth signature and token
Obviously I’m doing something wrong as Boone says it works – so it must!!
also can linkedin and Facebook settings be far away !
