    Yep that’s possible.

You can fully customise your widget by copy the dd_templates folder inside your theme folder.

Then you can go wild on the “lastviewed-widget.php” inside that folder!

Goodluck and don’t forget to leave a review!

    Ola….

And you did what it asked? the options are set (title, thumb, max etc)?

    Hi Leo,

It’s only manageable in the widget itself, not by the shortcode. Because the setting sets the max limit used by the cookie. To make it clear why I didn’t implement this ‘feature’ see the following case:

In the widget, you set the max to 3 and in the shortcode 5. You will expect 5 while max 3 can be set in the cookie. That will not work.

What I would suggest, is to create a new widget with the correct max and settings. Drag it in the inactive sidebar and use its shortcode.

Hope this will help. Sorry for my late reply and if you still like the widget, don’t forget to leave a review.

For now I will close this issue, because there is a workaround ==^ and I’m not intent to implement it in the future.

    Good luck,

    Wouter

    Hi @martyparker9745,

Of course this is possible, only it’s out of the widgets scope functionality. You need to find the solution in your theme <by coding>. There are a lot of ways to do it, and a lot of people already struggled with your problem. Just google it.

For now I will close this ticket, because it’s not a widgets problem.

Sin that you not want to use the asynchronous method, where it is intended actually in this situation.

I guess it was a config setting and you solved it by yourself by enabling the links on the elements in the widget settings.

Enjoy the plugin and don’t forget to give it a review ??

    Hi Jens,

Are you aware that the widget can also be loaded via Ajax? In this way, the widget would not affect the loading time.

In addition, you indicated that you have more than 80+ plugins. If they all add metadata to posts, this can indeed affect the loading time via the default way. The widget simply uses a WP query to retrieve the posts. So I cannot gain speed on this. The only thing I can recommend is to load the widget via Ajax.

Hope to have informed you sufficiently,

Sorry for my rude comment above, but I’m driven by reviews (not money). I’ve made some updates. hopefully your ‘slow loading’ issue is solved by those fixes. Please can you reconsider your review if the plugin works as expected and mark this ticket as resolved?

    Sincerely,
    Wouter

    Ola,

Should be fixed by 6.2.1. I was too enthusiastic implementing the new feature, I lost indeed the compatibility! Thanks for the tip.

Confirm all fixes by marking this thread as resolved.

    Enjoy the plugin.

What are the other 4 error & 9 warnings logs in your console? I have the feeling it’s not caused by the plugin itself. I just checked it on a fresh WP & plugin install.

    Let me know.

Mmhhh.. strange output. I don’t see the ‘advanced_cookie_settings_checked’, while in your screenshots it’s working. I’ve made some improvements in version >=6.1, hope this will help!

    Let me know

    Hi,

Did you enabled the link-options in the widget? Is it maybe caching? Did you tried it with the load on ajax option?

    Let me know,

    Hi Jens,

First of all thanks for using my plugin and sad it doesn’t workout on your site as you wish to.

Second of all I’m very disappointed in the way you first place a negative review, and then starts asking ‘fix the problem’ here in the forum. Let me be clear, I’m not your developer. I do this for my hobby and hope I can make other people happy with it. totally free and only paid by reviews!

So…now I’ve got your attention. I’ve made a few improvements in >= 6.1. Hope this will speed up your site a little bit (what I doubt is caused by this plugin).

Did you tried “the load by ajax option” in the widget? Then speed doesn’t need to be a problem at all!

Hope This will fix your problem and you will enjoy the plugin like all the other >800 active sites. O..yeah…..and still thanks for your (critical) review.

    Sincerely,
    Wouter
