The best course of action is to update to WordPress 3.8.2 if you haven’t already done so. Also upgrade Akismet to the latest version. Both software updates address the Denial of Service attack associated with pingbacks without having to disable XML-RPC entirely.

I tested this as well and I think it is the case that if you add a widget that is not with this plugin it does not automatically show in the dashboard- you have to go to settings and activate it.

Once you have done that you can also define icons and dividers in the menus – see documentation here: https://github.com/twittem/wp-bootstrap-navwalker.

Have you set up all the menus? You might need to define the primary navigation for people not logged in. The other menus can be defined for different user levels logged in as well.

No problem- my solution- deactivate the Post Thumbnail Editor plugin.
I’ll post this on that plugin’s support forum in case the developer wants to look in to it though, it may help fix the problem.

I have discovered that it works ok as long as I set the Next Gen Basic Thumbnails in Gallery settings to not use the imagebrowser effect.

I think you could do something like that with the wp bootstrap carousel plugin and the display posts shortcode plugin.
