In reply to: Avoiding/Recovering from the WSOD – White Screen of DeathThanks,
I’ll read up on backups. I don’t control the WP installation files since my host runs that end. They recently upgraded from 2.0.10 to 2.0.2 (hey, it’s progress) without telling me, and also by over-riding my setting to manual upgrades. Then they reset my setting to automatic upgrade. When I asked about all this, they pointed to the automatic setting as being done by me, and said they’ve -always- run 2.0.2. Orwell anyone?

In reply to: Have wordpress 2.0, need to update to 2.2. How do i do this? And now I am doomed. In the last 2 hours AT&T-Yahoo upgraded to 2.0.2 and reset my upgrade options to ‘automatic’. I reset them back to manual, but I’m obviously not in control.
I have themes and plug-ins that depend on certain settings, like the WP version. Not good.

I’ve had the same experience. I’m hosted at AT&T-Yahoo and they only install 2.0.10 at this date. Updating to 2.2 creates nothing but trouble for me. I see you are at GoDaddy. I don’t know what their help section is like, but maybe they would be of more specific help for what you are trying to do. I’m NOT knocking this forum or WordPress, it’s just that each situation has a best responder. I’ve given up on AT&T-Yahoo for help and set my updates to ‘manual’ so they don’t do something odd while I’m not looking.

In reply to: My host won’t allow a .htaccess fileI’d already tried renaming it and the host won’t allow it to be renamed. Red text about not having permission.
I see discussions about changing permissions using Apache somethingoranother, but I doubt I have that level of access either.
BTW, I’m hosted on AT&T-Yahoo

In reply to: How To Add More White Space?Open the HTML editor (there’s a blue button called HTML in the row of icons across the top of the edit box) and insert one or more <br> to induce a line break(s). You can also contain each paragraph within a set of <p> text in here </p> tags and it might induce a line break after each paragraph.

I also found this site: https://v03.browsershots.org/ that takes a snapshot of a website from the view of different browsers.
