Can you please let me know what folder my XML file should be in? When I hit select, thre is still nothing there. I’ll have my web admin move it to the right place, I just need to jknow where exactly where it should be.
Thanks.

In reply to: Posts missing from Blog but visible in DashboardI’m going to close support post ticket since I seem to have solved the problem myself.
I noticed my blog was still set to UTC – instead of -5 since I’m in the Eastern Time Zone. I corrected the time in settings, but it jacked the time stamps on the blog. I manually corrected the three time stamps and now they’re showing up in order.
Who knows why since they were still in chronological order but whatever.

In reply to: Posts missing from Blog but visible in DashboardWordpress is eating these posts and I don’t know why.
I thought I had it figured out where if I republished them and then backed up the date they would stay, and for about 15 minutes they did, and now they’re gone again.
What is happening?

Freeport, IL end of Staging, Day 1
stage day one…Hey – what does “is locked” mean? – When copied and pasted from the dashboard, they all say “is locked” after the title. They aren’t marked Private.

In reply to: Categories and the Tags are missing!Barring that, since that seems to be an impossibility, how can I get categories to show up at all? Will I have to completely do a fresh install and just load my posts and comments?

In reply to: Categories and the Tags are missing!I had given up on you.
I upgraded from 2.6
There is no wp_term_relationships table.
I even tried creating a new SQL database, but it deleted the wp_term_relationship table.
Just tell me so I’ll stop wasting my time – even though all of my categories are visible in the wp_terms table, I won’t be able to get them to show up on my blog without the original wp_term_relationship table, right?

In reply to: Categories and the Tags are missing!Guys, this is terribly frustrating. I’ve done everything you’ve said and this morning I now have 76 categories, which are three more than I had last night. none original to my blog.
Am I to take by your deafening silence that you don’t know how to fix this problem?
Would it be possible to move an existing terms_relationship table from another wp database into the this one?
And if so, how (- and by how, I mean don’t tell me to google it – I need it in layman’s terms please)?

In reply to: Categories and the Tags are missing!I’m taking this to mean we’ve all given up on the no-categories/no tags issue?

In reply to: Categories and the Tags are missing! Is there somewhere I can re-write and insert that table?
If that’s the problem, then somewhere there should be a blank table I can use to insert it or something into the database?

In reply to: Categories and the Tags are missing!Nothing.

In reply to: Categories and the Tags are missing! And now I have 73 categories: 40 Green categories now, 7 Oranges, 5 Yellows, 3 Reds, and 2 Blues, and they refuse to be deleted.
And no term_relationships table.
Now what? Reinstall the back up?

In reply to: Categories and the Tags are missing! No, that I do have. I mean I have to go to work for a few hours, so I won’t be able to do this until I get back.
*grin* I need to use my words, too.

In reply to: Categories and the Tags are missing!Guess you could do Tools->Export, drop your table, install WordPress, then do Tools->Import->WordPress but that’s ugly. Make sure you have a database backup before attempting that.
Export my database (from WordPress). Drop the Table (from MySql), Install WordPress (and never ever use the automatic upgrade again), and from WordPress, Import my database?
Alright – words, guys. I appreciate that you think I’m smart enough to fill in the holes, but this is scary thing for me. We don’t all live with WP, and an errant keystroke wipes out almost four years of blogging, which I’d rather not do. I’ll check back in a few hours.

In reply to: Categories and the Tags are missing! That link https://www.dagondesign.com/articles/wordpress-23-database-structure-for-categories/ was meant to help you understand if necessary how the terms tables were ‘connected’.
Yes, I understand that part. What I don’t understand is how to make them connect.
I seem to be shown parts of an engine and then the finished product of a car, but no idea how to get the engine parts assembled and into the car.
