I have a widescreen monitor (at a resolution of 1920×1200), but the positioning is fine for the uploader in both IE7 & Firefox on Vista.

Could it be the issue highlighted in this thread that’s happening with you?

I’m not saying that I’m unhappy or whatever with the 2nd option you mentioned, and the one I tried. What I’m saying is that some of the large number of people who are creating new threads and adding to existing thread on this forum in regards to the error at “crunching” may well be suffering from the above but not be aware of it.

This is particularly the case, as I said, when modern digital cameras produce large images. Anyone who isn’t that technical (which I would guess to be the far majority of WordPress users) may not be aware of server issues as you mentioned.

What browser are you using? There is an issue with IE7, that can be fixed by editing 2 files.

I too am having this issue.

    Had same issue in IE7.
Have a look at Change set 7573 #7573

I edited two files (removed 1 comma in each file )and Gallery fully functional in Browsers.

Yeah, just tried this and the multiple file upload is now available in IE7 on Vista!

However, the HTTP error at the “crunching” stage is still happens. For me, this results in the image file being uploaded, but no thumbnail being produced – so if I go to put the image into a post it comes up full size.

You can resize this within the post writing page, but this isn’t really that useful as it just results in the full-sized image being shown at a smaller size (and therefore the file size is that of the full size image).

After you’ve typed in the Title and moved the cursor to the textbox for the body, right under the Title box it will show you the url for the pending post – and an edit link next to it. There you can change the slug.

As an update to the above, I have managed to get the multiple image upload to work on one browser, but not another.

IE7 on Vista – the multiple image upload is not available, the latest Flash Player is installed.

Firefox on Vista – after just upgrading to the latest version of Flash Player, the multiple image upload facility became available to me.

However, even in Firefox the image thumbnail problem as I mentioned above still exists.

I’ve noticed the same on my installation of 2.5

Not only this – but when I change the options of the individual images once they are uploaded (one at a time…), I change the option from “medium” to “thumbnail” so only thumbnails are shown on the post – but when I save the changes, they revert back to medium.

So if I publish the post, the images are way too big.

Also, each time I uploaded an image I get a 500 Server Error and have to close the pop-up box before uploading the next image.

So, you’ve changed the option in the admin pages to have the blog at the new location. What files did you move exactly?

If you’ve kept the WordPress core files address in the same location (i.e. mydomain.com/blog), and have only moved where you want the blog address to be (i.e. mydomain.com) You only need to move the index.php (and possibly .htaccess file).

    Go to the Control Panel
    – Select Options
    – – Select Privacy
    – – – You will see the option for this

Yeah, I’ve come up with this problem in v2.2 as well, no text appears in the body of the message, but title gets through fine.

I’ve just tried uploading the previous version of the file wp-includes/class-pop3.php and things work fine.
