I was also facing the same issue, just fixed after following your link at codex.

This is what I found in console when clicking on video quick tags in Edit Post window

Uncaught Error: cannot call methods on dialog prior to initialization; attempted to call method 'isOpen'

let me know which file of twenty thirteen is responsible to generate ul list of menu in main navigation bar at the top.

ok then I’ll switch to child theme.

I’m directly editing style.css since not going to update the theme in future.
