In reply to: Upgrading to W3 Total Cache 0.9.2.4 breaks website.I haven’t even bothered. I tried it more than enough that it’s definitely a bug.
I’m just keeping it at 0.9.2.3 for now. Until someone can figure it out. I might contact the developer with this issue sometime today. Giving him the links to some of these threads. It seems to be fairly common.

In reply to: Upgrading to W3 Total Cache 0.9.2.4 breaks website.Well no good news on my front. I tried to baby the upgrade process in every way.
– Disabled W3 Total Cache.
– Deleted old ‘w3-total-cache’ folder.
– Uploaded new ‘w3-total-cache’ folder.
– Instant Apache error 500.
– Deleted new ‘w3-total-cache’ folder.. everything worked again. So from attempting to update this plugin numerous times (both manual FTP or automatic w/WP Admin Area.) I think it’s safe to say there’s either some very common conflict with all our setups, or simply a bug that got overlooked by the developer. I’d guess the latter.

In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] New upgrade crashed siteSince your issue was rather related to mine, I’d recommend you upload the old version 0.9.2.3 (Downgrading) at least until someone resolves this issue.
I’m going to be attempting a couple different ways to try and resolve this tonight. I’ll keep you posted on any news.
You can go to this link and download all other versions of W3 Total Cache.

In reply to: Upgrading to W3 Total Cache 0.9.2.4 breaks website.I’ll have to try disabling it and manually updating it again. I’ll update you all when I try it. Probably later tonight I’ll give it a whirl.
I hope it works since W3 Total Cache 0.9.2.4 has lots of updates to many core features that I use. Mostly am looking at xCache improvements.

All my wordpress blogs are now hosted on a VPS for more reliability and speed. I’ve also created a number of other wordpress blogs, one which is my main niche blog now.

In reply to: activating pluginsI have encountered that issue before. I did some researching on it and most likely your hosting provider has a 32MB PHP memory limit.
I was going to move my memory limit to 64MB or more, but I was going to need to ‘update’ my hosting, not pay, but my site would have to be down while they changed things etc. I didn’t want that so I worked around it.
Look for plugins that have a small memory footprint, I used Hyper Cache instead of W3 Total Cache, as it uses a lot less memory and still improves performance of the site overall.
