BTW this is with 1.6.16 installed and polylang disabled

Hi – @jrbernon – interesting – I also have polylang and I thought I have tried deactivating it I must have not checked properly – indeed deactivating it solves the issue…

Like you say – its not really a solution but maybe now we have seemed to identify this clash it can be fixed… – at the moment I am looking at how to convert the header I built into static code and how to use this static code in wordpress as I am not anticipating needing to change the header frequently…

I really have no idea why there is a problem but the fact is that there is one – the header works using 1.6.14 but not using 1.6.15 – and if needed I can take a screen cast showing the result when switching between the two versions.

The theme showing as active is Hello Elementor Version: 2.8.1 not sure whats the download link – think its in the main repository…

In regard to the auto update – i found that as I installed wordpress using softaculous it has an auto-upgrade option for plugins which I have now disabled so will see if that solves the problem

hi – tried to disable other plugins but no good. AND now there is another issue – as version 1.6.14 works for me I disabled auto-update yet it keeps auto -updating anyway every night…

also now, after it has auto updated to 1.6.15 I do get the navigation menu in the header but all formating is gone…

solved with the help of someone on Reddit – version 1.6.15 of Elementor Header and Footer is faulty – downgraded to 1.6.14 and header came back

WHen I deactivate “Essential Addons for Elementor” plugin, the menu disapears from the header – the rest of the header looks the same

Hi and thanks again – ues i picked header drom the initial setup in “Elementor Header & Footer Builder” and than clicked on “Edit with Elementor” to edit the header.

I am not sure if i made the issue clear – header works like it should, only issue is when viewing on mobile device (or mobile setting in Elementor) where the menu turns into a burger menu and than sub menus can only be accessed by pressing on the down arrow symbol. Please look at my website with a mobile device and you will understand…

The thing is that I think that it actualy all works like it should BUT because in a browser on a pc a hover over the sub-menu headers open the sub-menus AND on a touch screen “hover” is meaningless THAN this is the problem the code needs to address. So, “Elementor Header & Footer Builder”” fix this by adding the down arrow symbol to click on (to open the sub-menu) while it shoud turn the whole sub-menu heading area to a “click to open” div. This way is more intuitive to the end users.

Hi and thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I am a little bit out of my depth here…

Its my first attempt at building a website in wordpress. I have built ones before with html code so understand a little bit about the code behind but this wordpress/elementor setup seems to do everything behind the scene and other than selecting option I dont seem to have much understanding on the final html output and how to modify it… I find wordpress and elementor very restrictive – you either use pre-defined options or you are stuck.

What I have done was basically to install elementor and Elementor Header & Footer Builder and activate them. In Elementor Header & Footer Builder created a header, pressed “edit with Elementor” – added the menu to the header in Elementor – chose fonts, colors etc and thats about it… so I am not sure why the class name is not what it suppose to be…

I have done some digging into elementor now and figured out that this is due to the preset in simple menu widget – if i change the preset than i get a different result (which is also terrible) – any idea how this can be override? I assume that wordpress custom css will be able to overide it but cant figure out the css code…

I use elementor and started with the default elementor hello theme. I have not changed anything sitewide – only added a { text-decoration: none !important; } to the customised css option in under Appearance-customise in wordpress
