Thanks Lorelle, but I read those links and am still stuck. Does anyone have a specific suggestion for the two questions I list in the original post?

I have been having the same issues with Bloglines and have contacted them on a number of occasions. My feeds often don’t update until a day or two later. Today I received the following reply after I again mentioned my wordpress blog was slow to update to BL:

“We have reset the feed mentioned in your email below. If it does not update within the next few hours, please get back to us. WordPress blogs seem to update more slowly then other types of blogs; our technical team is currently investigating this issue. We regret any inconvenience this may have caused. Thanks again for writing.”

Bloglines runs a helpful service, so hopefully they can get this issue resolved!

podz and techwench, you two are great! I had checked ColdForged’s site, but apparently I didn’t read that tidbit closely enough. That did the trick! Thanks for the speedy help, in stereo! : )

Thanks for the feedback. Apparently this is something that appears to only be showing up when the browser window is small enough on PCs running IE 6. I’m still not sure how to address the issue. Would anyone be willing to look at the CSS that shows up and suggest a change that might fix the issue? The site is based on a theme (I didn’t code it), so I’m not savvy enough to know what might be causing the problem.

Thanks guys. Dissursion you were right on with pointing me to that side bar, and root, your suggestions really helped as well. I removed some of the padding, made sure floated elements had widths designated and that seemed to do the trick. Thanks again for the help, I really appreciate both of you taking the time to assist me!

I figured out my issue! Turns out the Blog address (URI) under general options in the WordPress admin was set to the wrong address. Correcting it to match the WordPress Address (URI) (and the correct address for the blog) fixed the issue!

OK, I followed carthick’s steps, one by one, and they all lead me to the same server error (actually one of the permissions led me to an error that said forbidden).

Whenever I delete the .htaccess file, the site comes back up, but the permalinks don’t function. When I upload the .htaccess file (no matter what permissions, I then get the “Internal Server Error” again for any page I try to open up (including admin).

When I’ve uploaded the new .htaccess file, I’ve pasted the exact content I’m told to paste in from the admin permalink options area.

Any ideas on what I might be doing wrong? I’d be greatly appreciative for your help in getting my site and permalinks working right. Thanks. . .

Also, I don’t understand why wordpress isn’t doing this automatically. Under the admin options permalinks section it says it should take care of the .htaccess file automatically, but it can’t since .htaccess is not write-able. I don’t understand this since right now I’ve got a blank .htaccess file loaded with permissions set to 666. My site pulls up, but the permalinks don’t function. If I go to paste in the content on the permalink options page it just crashes my site with the Internal server error again.

    Hi vkaryl,

I’m putting it in the folder that index.php, wp-admin, wp-content, etc. all reside in. Is that correct?

    Hi Carthik and Freewanderer,

Thanks for the help. Tried uploading a new .htaccess (with 777 temporarily) and I’m now getting an internal server error when trying to access the site. Any ideas?

Wow alphaoide. . . .you’re better than paid support! I have no idea what you had me do with these, but all your suggestions worked beautifully and it looks like I’m up and running now! I’m very grateful for your help, thanks so much for your time and expertise with this!

    Hi alphaoide!
Thanks soooo much for your help on this. Yes I am on WP 1.5. I followed your instructions and they helped, but I’ve still got one pair of errors. As you can guess I have no clue what you’re having me do, but so far it’s helping a lot! Let me know if you have a suggestion for clearing up this last error. Thanks again!
