Jan – so love this plugin that I did as you suggested – got another copy and all seems well. Don’t know how or why that happened but am happy that I can now use it. Thank you for your suggestion.

You mentioned that my ‘copy’ of WPTouch might be involved. Well – I got that copy directly from the WordPress plugin repository and installed it directly in my WordPress install from Plugins -> Install New. So what’s in your repository now just might be the same as my ‘copy’.

Understand your nickel statement! But I had already checked and didn’t find anything – just wanted backup.

I prefer not to share the link on a public forum. Besides wptouch is now gone from the site and I have been testing exhaustively for the last hour – not finished yet!

Unfortunately I could not find it either but it IS happening. I noticed the redirect while trying to access another plugin. And that plugin did not work at all. So I did the procedure of disabling plugins one at a time and when I disabled WPTouch – all was well. No redirect. Logic tells me it was WPTouch causing the problem and I read a lot about b.scorecardresearch through a google search and found it is served by many plugins. I hate it because this plugin made my mobile site look really good but I won’t use it now.

Already talked to my hosting company and my site is NOT hacked. I had already pretty much determined that before I called them but this site is huge and I can’t afford to have anything happen to it! Hence the call to hosting company

But according to Matt Mullenweg I ‘should be able to set the new URL in WP and it’ll redirect all the old content automatically thanks to the canonical URL functionality.’

That’s what I was trying to do when it all fell apart!

As I said – I was unable to login to my dashboard and the url redirected to a idfferent url that appeared to be not active.

WordPress in the domain name is a no-no NOW – it wasn’t in 2005! So I was told to change it so wordpress does not appear in the address bar.

I guess what I have to do is move my entire site to a new domain. Think that is totally not right.

As far as the problem I am having, it is now sort of solved by changing the wp-config file.

Finally got the site back. Had to hard code urls in the wp-config file – don’t like it but it works.

What I meant was that the word ‘wordpress’ is in my domain name and I was told that is now against the law even though I’ve had this domain since 2005! So am trying not to make it show up in the address bar by using another domain name I own. Must have done something wrong because according to those who should know, it’s easy to do.

So it’s back to the drawing board and hope the sheriff doesn’t show up at my door. ??

Geez – just upgraded a HUGE site and now I can’t schedule posts, quick edit, click on screen options, click on help and I don’t know what else in the dashboard! I’m afraid to see what it has done to the site. This is AWFUL – why won’t WP fix this before 3.1???

Weren’t we told this was “a security hardening update for all previous WordPress versions. This security release is required if you have any untrusted user accounts, but it also comes with important security enhancements and hardening. All WordPress users are strongly encouraged to update.”

FYI Chorse – there is a tiny little icon above the editor area in WP out to the right of the audio, video, etc. icons. That’s what makes this work.

I second Chorse’s question. I’ve installed it but cannot figure out how to make it work. Yes – I’ve looked but can’t find any documentation or an editor icon or anything. I’d LOVE to use this if only I knew where to start!

Well it’s been 3 weeks since I asked this question. No reply.

Since my client is getting antsy I turned off the auto refresh and it doesn’t display next quote for people to click to get the next quote.

What gives??

I know how to do that. I want to store/pass a variable from 4 or 5 radio buttons to the link button and have it go to the specific page I create for the radio buttons.

Do you have a hint where I could look to figure out how to name buttons and then use them – I thought of and like your idea but didn’t know how to do that either.

Similar problem. Installed 2.7 in new directory. Copied theme and plugins, activated everything. Want to use existing database – set it in wp-config but it isn’t accessing the existing db.

How to set up for new install to access existing db.

Gfindlay – I want your plugin but when I go to your download library and click on download, I get a 404. Please, please – where is this plugin??
