I downloaded the “latest” version of WP and the plugin.

WP has been updated on my internal test server and has not corrected the problem.

When I downloaded and installed the “latest” Static Page Plugin the version number (1.2.1) did not change after install.

Any ideas?

I tried this and it doesn’t seem to work.

Is there a setting that must be turned on for the

I thought the Texilize things automajically converted hard returns to line breaks?

Ok I gotthe home.php page working great but when you use the Home link on the sidebar from any other page but the front – home.php page the page title – Home appears on the front page.

I managed to get it working.

When I uploaded an image through the upload panel the img src link that WordPress supplied was incomplete. It used a relative /wp-content/image.gif rather than a full URL.

I suspect this has something to do with the fact its running on a server on my LAN and not on a remote web server.

Yup tried that. Still no image!

What is the default index extension of WordPress? index.php?

If there are multiple index pages with different extensions like:
index.html, index.htm, index.php. Which index page with load first?

I don’t want to muck with .htaccess and frankly don’t know why you need it with WordPress… feel free to explain.

I think I figured it out.

Linked Categories are for linking to external sites. Correct?

In the Manage Links page there is a Image URL that you can link to an image like a banner or something link that but when I put my complete image path in https://www.mysite.com/wordpress/wp-images/childcare.jpg the image doesn’t show up. Any ideas why not?

Under the Links tab in the Admin Panel:

Links
Manage Links | Add Link | Link Categories | Import Links

I just added the banner to the imgheader image file for now.

I will try your suggestion. Haven’t had time to get back to WordPRess today, although I was up until nearly 3 am working on it. First time a quite a while I actually “got it” well most of it enough to really get things done. I really enjoy working with WordPress!

I do appreciate the fact that everyone is a volunteer and I would like to help out anyway and as much as my schedule allows me.

Like I said, I’m a Lead Graphic Designer and I don’t have a strong enough knowledge of WordPress to really contribute yet. I could help with creating walk-throughs, etc. I did a lot of consulting work in the late 90’s for a company called NetObjects. They created a website creation and management product similar to Frontpage or Dreamweaver only a heck of a lot easier to use. IMHO.

Anyway, thanks for all your help and please let me know how I can help.

Well I hacked and slashed my way through the various CSS and template files and managed to get pretty much everything I wanted accomplished.

Some of the reading helped give me a clearer understanding of how the CSS Stylesheet and the templates interact. This could be documented better IMHO. Thanks for the push to read (:

The only remaining issue I have remaining is finding a way to add linked banner images to my sidebar menu and more importantly to the imgheader graphic.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
