In reply to: [FB LinkedIn Resume] Problem with default prefix of URLThank you – a new development has occurred. I installed the plugin on a brand new installation of WP on a different physical server run by the same hosting company.
I now get the following error message:
Warning: gzinflate() [function.gzinflate]: data error in /home/sangarun/public_html/andrewlian/wp-content/plugins/fb-linkedin-resume/fb-linkedin-resume.php on line 111
FB Linkedin Resume: we’re sorry but we can’t correctly download your LinkedIn profile.Does this help at all?
Thanks for any thoughts
Andrew

In reply to: [FB LinkedIn Resume] Problem with default prefix of URLWell the hosting company says that all is well but all connections to linkedin from inside WP seem to fail (I have not tried another cms).
I wonder if anyone would be kind enough to go to https://gocultures.com/andrewlian and tell me if the linkedin resume (Fabrizio’s actually) works.
Thank you
Andrew

In reply to: [FB LinkedIn Resume] Problem with default prefix of URLThank you to both of you. Very useful. In fact since writing my message a strange phenomenon has occurred: the profile *occasionally* appears. If I access the profile directly through a browser it is very fast.
As for php being blocked by my webhost, it is not. So I am starting to suspect that there may be some kind of time-out problem (I am in Thailand and my connection to my US host is actually very very slow). Let’s see. I now think that it is not a plugin problem but something else. I will try fabrizio’s URL.
Thanks and cheers

In reply to: [FB LinkedIn Resume] Problem with default prefix of URLHello
I am afraid I am experiencing the same problem. I have customised my linkeding profile etc… it now conforms with the expected format and works fine when accessed directly – but when I use it inside WP, I get the following connection error: “FB Linkedin Resume: we’re sorry but we can’t correctly download your LinkedIn profile.
I am using a brand new WP 3.8 installation and the elisium theme.
I have tried placing a slash at the end of the URL and everything else I can possibly think of.
All the best

In reply to: [Fast Secure Contact Form] Make a textarea invisibleThank you !!
Andrew
SOunds about right…
cheers and thanks
andrewUnfortunately, it was after the ” – to the naked eye it just looked like an extra space but in fact it was not. People will just have to watch out for this and check the shortcode in html mode – making sure no extra stuff is in there.
cheers
andrewnon-breaking space=
It disappeared from my second post
Andrew
SOLVED – the answer may help others.
ckeditor (probably) added a non-breaking space (the characters: )after the security key.
Of course this space was not visible in the editor, but was present in the HTML. It escaped my notice when I looked at the code in HTML mode – but it broke the plugin code. The answer was simple: remove and everything was working once again.
All the best
