UPDATE:

I went into settings and discovered that the setting for Slideshow, which was set to 5000, was impacting my videos. With some other testing, I had gotten the videos to play all the way through but they kept flashing. I changed this setting to 1000000 and the video will now play correctly.

HOWEVER – no matter what I do, I cannot get the videos to autoplay. I have removed the playbar in Vimeo settings and at least there’s only a play icon to click, but I’d really like them to autoplay when the trigger image is clicked.

Thank you very much. This made the bullets appear. Now I only have to figure out how to make the body text larger to make it match the size of the bulleted text. Thanks for your help.

Hi – sorry, never saw your initial response! I have deactivated all plugins and still received the error. I have them all re-activated at this point as this is a very active site. I’ll respond in a bit with the list of plugins. Thank you.

Hi John,

We used your suggestion to come up with something that would remove this one title, but will give us the option to display group titles elsewhere on the site.

So far it seems to be working great. (I’m dropping this here so that others following this thread will be able to see both answers.)

Hi Leah (or Brook, if you end up with this one) –
Will this also work to change the “read more” at the bottom of the snippet in the list view? I would like to change that to “Read more and register” but I’m concerned that if I follow the instructions in tutorials, I will change EVERY instance of “Read more” across the entire site to be “Read more and register.” Any ideas?

Suggestion for future release: Add to Settings: Text to show at bottom of snippet in All Events list: (default is Read More) and then allow user to customize. That would be so very cool.

Hi Leah, (and thanks Karl for jumping on);

Leah, I don’t think I am talking about a widget. https://www.tdi3.org/events shows all upcoming events. Since the 3.8 update, events seem to be dropping off that list based on the date. Prior to the update, they dropped from the list based on the date AND the time.

As Karl and I both experienced, an event on 10/22 at 10AM will not disappear from the Upcoming Events list (at /events) until 10/22 has passed. Prior to 3.8, that same event would have disappeared at 10:01AM.

I actually have an event scheduled for 10/22 at 10AM – coincidentally on a Wednesday, so you may be able to see it if you go to the site after 10AM.

After restoring my site, I updated The Events Calendar with no issues. I then tried the Event Rocket update again, and it gave me the same errors as above.

I am on WP 4.0, TEC 3.8, and living on Event Rocket 1.5.1.

Notably, after all of these issues, ER is now numbering the events on the front page of my site again. I’m going to try to figure out how to correct that.

I gave up after two hours down and am now restoring the site from backup. Respectfully, it would be great if the forums were monitored for emergency situations.

I am restoring but now don’t know that I want to install the two plug-in updates that see to have caused this issue. Any ideas on what may have gone wrong?

Any advice would be very welcome.

It is working – thank you! I just replaced everything in the Custom CSS box in tools with the first two lines above. This looks great.

I tried removing the “.updated” from this line of code, and the details of the event went away again.
