In reply to: [Snaps] No portfolio template option for pagesHey soosgyul, I think I found an easy work around. Here’s what I did:
1. Create a page called “Home”
2. Click “text” in the text editor to switch to plain text mode.
3. Insert the shortcode [portfolio] to call all of your portfolio posts
4. Create another page for blog posts if you want.
5. Go to cusomizer and change the “home page” to #1
6. Set a separate posts page if you want to (#4)There’s also this article about customizing what portfolio items show up, and how they show up using attributes from the custom post type.
Here’s my site so far: malderman.com
Hope this helps! Or we figure out how to get it to work the right way.
Cheers,
michael

In reply to: [Snaps] No portfolio template option for pagesI’m having the same issue. I installed this theme because I wanted a separate home portfolio page and blog post page. I’m wondering if the WordPress Snaps page is just out of date, or if it’s only referring to wordpress.com pages.

In reply to: [GK Portfolio] Image thumbnails do not resize and are too bigHey There,
I modified the functions.php file as you suggested and regenerated thumbnails. (michaelalderman.co) It doesn’t seem to immediately have made a difference. Also, the images are sized at 295×380 according to the theme customizer.
Please let me know if there is something else I can try.
Thanks,
Michael

In reply to: [GK Portfolio] Image thumbnails do not resize and are too bigHey There!
Thanks for your assistance. I resized the images to 295×380. I’m still having a problem. The images are zoomed in on the thumbnails. Before I updated, they weren’t zoomed in. They rendered fully within the frame so that the whole image was visible, plus some extra white space on the top and bottom (because the original images aren’t square-ish).
I had resized the images to 100×100 to see if it made a difference, and it didn’t. They were just lower resolution than the container needed, therefore grainy.

In reply to: [GK Portfolio] Image thumbnails do not resize and are too bigI should also add, I’ve tried manipulating the image sizes in the theme customizer, and haven’t found any success, even after regenerating thumbnails each time.
The website is https://blog.teamschools.org. It is set to appear only on posts. I set the text in the display settings, but it isn’t showing up on the pages. When I inspect the element, I can see the tag above in the html, but it isn’t rendering on the page. I’m interested in finding where the text and h3 tag is stored so I can modify it outside of WordPress settings.
