    Hello @carmpocalypse

Thank you for reaching out to us, we are here to help.

In our next release, we have resolved an issue that affects the performance of the plugin that is caused by a migration feature. In the current release, you can deactivate this feature by adding some code. This situation is discussed and explained in this thread that is also the developer’s thread for the fix that should be included in the upcoming 2.0.5 release.

Please take a look and see if this helps you resolve the issue. If this does not improve the situation, you might need to perform conflict testing and see if this performance issue is not related to a conflict with another plugin.

Please let me know if this helped you or if you require additional support.

    Kind regards,
    Joost

    Hello @carmpocalypse

We never confirmed an issue to be present, since we never heard back from you after our response on May 16th.

Did you confirm this issue also occurs without any other plugins active, other than WooCommerce and PayPal Payments?

We did do some improvements, and I provided you a GitHub link to an improvement item from the time you contacted us. I see that this issue was resolved, so it might be good to test the situation again and see if there is any improvement present while using our last release 2.2.2.

    Pending your response.

    Kind regards,
    Joost

There was no noticeable improvement(s). Also, the status of the api logger still shows incomplete all the time, taking almost 5 seconds.

    Hello @carmpocalypse

Thank you for your response. We believe our plugin has no direct impact on the loading speed of scripts from the PayPal.com domain. The plugin only enqueues the PayPal button script, which may load additional components from PayPal.

All that could be done from a plugin perspective is to only enable the button on pages where it is needed (e.g. Checkout), to reduce the presence of PayPal scripts on the website.
To understand more about the need for individual scripts, you can get in contact with?PayPal Merchant Technical Support.

Sorry that this was not made clear straight away, however, we will continue to look for ways to improve the performance of our plugin from our end.

    Kind regards,
    Joost
