What browser and browser version are you using? If you are using Firefox, then, are you using the NoScript plugin?

Try emptying your browser’s cache and then restarting your browser.

If you are using Firefox as your web browser, make sure Enable Java is unchecked in Preferences -> Content.
Empty your browser cache, and then, restart it. I had the Mystery 7 popup, but it was a local error, not within WordPress.

curtismchale, we don’t know if it is a fresh installation or an installation with lots of posts. He did mention “permalinks”, which could imply many posts.

A re-install might work, but to avoid losing his current posts, he would have to change his database pointer, and then, import his old database into the new one. But that requires accessing MySQL directly, if his site uses MySQL for the WordPress database.

What does the URL line say when you get “script is not responding”?

In answering your 1st question, “what do I do?”
1. Check your internet connection
2. Clear your Browser’s cache and then, restart your browser
3. Is it peak hour for your neighborhood? (real life one)

In answering your 2nd question, “Can I get someone to look at it and help me with it?” Please provide more details. The more details you provide the better help you will get. Your trouble could be very simple to fix, or extremely difficult, depending on how much detail you provide.

There’s a few questions I think the community needs to know:
1. Are you the only one that sees the problem?
2. Does other people see the same problem as you?
3. Have you viewed your website from another computer?

I’ve seen similar problem, but it was browser related. Its usually fixable by emptying the cache and/or removing cookies.
